Some how I missed this post, sorry about the late response . Im not from Silver Spring originally but I like the area. I just got a new scanner so I will post some Tysons pics soon. I don't think you did too bad, at least you found someone that even returned your call. I'm trying to find a 87 in my area I've seen bikes a lot worse than your's and their asking $2800. My biggest problem is I can't get anyone to reply to their ads. especially on Facebook .I keep trying to contact them...

I think the Tysons pits started getting closed down in 1980 and we're probably completely gone by 81/82. I remember having a picture of me going off a jump with buildings from Tysons 2 mall in the background. Even though I only rode there for a year It was were I learned how to ride with a lot of credit...

That Montesa brings back a lot of memories, I used to go to the local drugstore and read motorcycle magazines every Saturday. I can remember Kenny Zahrt was on a lot of the covers as a test rider. Very cool photos. I stumbled on a website for old drag racing of NHRA's website. It had a page on the long gone Aquasco track, basically still there un-touched. I emailed them asking about the motocross track. He emailed me back that it was bulldozed about 10 years ago and you would have never known it was there. Was sorry to hear.
