7/31/2026 7:39pm I hated Southwick backwards, something about was terrible, lack of flow maybe. the left handed first turn was terrible, too narrow.

7/31/2026 7:13pm If you want to go way back to the 1970's, the finish line was located where what is known as the 'spectators jump" is. The spectators jump was at least twice as big as it is now. Air cooled 125's would land at the bottom and there were lots of injuries every weekend. John Finkeldey broke his KTM 495 in half off of it at the '82 National. The finish line was moved to the "tower straight "and the jump was mellowed out considerably.

7/31/2026 7:08pm Damn fine pictures!! Are those of the original track? My dad always told me it was over where the post office is now right next to interstate building supply, I feel like I recognize that barn in the background of the second pic?

7/31/2026 11:59am This just popped up on my youtube feed – don't know that i've ever seen much older footage of the Wick. 90s maybe but not 80s. I recognise a bit of the track although it's obviously changed... I think I remember reading at some point that quite a big section was moved/cut out in the late 90s. Is that right? Feels like it's been the same for quite a while now though. How much opportunity is there to change it up and or maybe use some "fresher" dirt? Fwiw, it doesn't look deep in 86 either haha.

7/31/2026 11:59am Yea the frog pond was cut out and in turn the section before the finish was added in to keep the length about the same. The frog pond was after the long straight away after the start instead of the left turn after the deegan scrub jump instead they took a right across where the hill is to the start and dropped down into the frog pond then came back in and linked up about where the exit of that left turn is. Then in that drop down where christain craig crashed instead of jumping there it was a left...

7/31/2026 11:58am Yep you can even still see it on google earth theres a gap in the trees where it still exists, just a little overgrown. (I made the blue lines extra wide so the track can be seen vs covering it with the lines).

7/31/2026 9:44am If you’re there for a local race, you can walk down in the woods and see the frog pond which is still very much there. It’s just covered in new growth pine trees. The fencing is still on the hill. I believe the TV camera stand is gone and I would guess the massive berm is still there it’s just...

7/11/2026 1:23pm For one thing, NO track whether it’s a local track or AMA national track is going to have the same sand or dirt that it’s always had after 30+ years of action. It gets roosted away, washed away after years worth of rainy Spring races, mud races etc. 338 sees races ALL year except for the winter. There is activity...

7/7/2026 7:19pm We are currently finishing up 2.5 days of steady, soaking rain here in town. Nothing torrential enough to cause a major washout at the track but plenty to soak down into it. They’re calling for some rain/T storms Friday early evening but it may not amount to much based off the percentages. Relatively cool and full sun expected Saturday 👍

6/23/2026 3:35pm Take it from a 6’4” 220lb’r Whatever you get, make sure you can adjust or change the footpegs, seat and handlebar combo so you’ll fit on the bike. Also, get your suspension checked out/revalved for you. Your knees and spine will thank you!

8/24/2025 5:58pm The season confirms what I have stated from the start, that although a four-time world champion, a world class starter, and a very good rider, Jorge is no better than the tenth fastest guy in the world.

8/24/2025 5:18pm Deep but True. Cortés did not just cruise around, he made sure he succeeded for better or worse. History shows it!

8/24/2025 4:07pm Que cojones Jorge! You let all of the EU down with this year, damn man. And to think that Spain conquered the whole western world just 500 years ago. History would look a lot different if Jorge was in charge
