What a bummer . I never knew him. But I remember seeing him at some NESC races and maybe riding at a pit when he was there. And then hearing about his loss of his leg from an infection similar to the type of infection I had , showed me how lucky I had gotten. Bummer to hear of somebody still so young, passing away however it happened. I hope they release the cause of death. Depending on what it was, it may help shine a light on something and help others avoid the same fate. Or help dispute rumors...
