I asked Chad last night whether he'd run the Nationals, and he said he'd like to. Me being the average fan without the "inside" info am guessing it has to do with sponsorship. Any indications he'll be getting more financial support in response to his very successful season with his private team?

Oh, props to all of the riders. We spoke to several (Chad included), and all were extremely patient, friendly, and professional. These guys are great reps for our sport.

The outdoors are going to seem like a different sport this year.

Missing from action will be Stewart, Reed, Canard, Grant, Tedesco, Windham, Hansen, Wharton, etc,.......

I think the riders all are in SX mode right now. Funny how no one talks about Nationals with RV2 or Dungey? Once you start talking Nationals, everyone just starts asking about that.

Wow, I didn't realise that many riders would be missing from action at some point this year. Hopefully Stewart and Reed will work things out and turn up.

Transworld reported James will do the first 4, Reed is undecided and Canard's injury wasn't too bad so he won't miss the whole thing.

I don't see them making a big effort to race the Nationals unless someone comes up with some money to help them. Nationals just don't pay enough for these guys to race.

There's money to be made in supercross. Win bonuses are large, and people from outside of the industry are willing to write checks. Not so much when it comes to the outdoors.

Honda need to step up and pay for his Nationals campaign, he's their best shot at winning anything right now.

the outdoors are WAY more fun to watch or go to than supercross. Sx main is only like 13-18 min now. Where out doors there is over a hour total on racing compared to like 30 min a rider is racing in sx.

That's not his point.
The fact is, this is business and it's a costly business. When companies are not interested in being part of the effort as sponsors and supporters, it makes it very difficult to go racing.

They need to attract more interest in the outdoor series and tie the sport in more with the extreme sports and xgames types etc. Supercross has been growing for the last few years while it doesn't seem as if the outdoors has been doing the same.

Maybe he's saying that because he is the highest placed honda rider at this point in time in SX, only a handful of points away from winning the whoe lot, and he would be the only big name honda rider to start the nats if he chose to do so.

No you're right, its cos we're australian and one eyed.Dry

That, and .99 cents will get you a big gulp down at 7-11. Doesn't really matter what you or I think. What matters is what those who write the big checks think.

Are win bonuses any different between the two?

Motodude is correct! Team Honda will have nobody on the gate at RD1 , so yes,....Reed is their best shot at this title! At least this way , they have a shot at it........without Reed being there , Honda won't have a chance at the overall championship.

I can only imagine what the fuel costs for the rig alone are to run the full schedule....

I feel he won't do em. By saying he plans on doing them keeps the haters from bagging on him until the gate drops. Any team that is serious will already have there budget and plans already in place. Please Chad prove me wrong.
