Ok, I have a 2000 yz 250, I picked up last yr as paymnet on a bill someone owed me

I have a question, I cannot seem to find the answer to

On the right side of the bike there are factory 2 locations with holes/nuts on the sub frame, , and on on the left side
that something was there.
BUT I have look at many pictures of 2000 yz 250 as I can find and don't see these on other bikes
I don't think its important part of the bike missing
But would just like to know what was there
I was thinking that when the factory exhaust was changed maybe they were silincer mounts, but then why is there one on the other side of the bike.
and then when i looked at other 2000 yz 250, I didn't see these at all
they are defeniety there from factory, and I checked the vin # and its a 2000 yr bike. what gives??

here is a picture if anyone has any ideas

No idea what it is.. I found a pic that Yamaha used as a press release for that year and those brackets are not on it. Maybe the sub-frame is from a different year.

It looks like you have a yzf 426 sub frame on the pic. Those brackets were for the frame guard and muffler.

I have sen other 2000 yz 250's liek mine and none of them have the same sub frame mounts I have

I don't know the history on the bike, so don't know if the sub frame was switched or not
Like I said they don't seem to be any issue, just wondered why there there and not on other 200 yz 250'z

guess its possible I have the wrong sub frame

But the exhaust mount all line up for the silincer( could be a standard deal, but most bikes don't )

I know it's a 4 stroke. I was showing you that it had mounts were yours does. It's a 2000 yzf 426. I think that sub frame is on your bike.

Ok , I also have on hole on the other side
I was thinking maybe the numberplate then on that side, if I have the wrong sub frame then

I don't see this as an issue
or could it be having the wrong sub frame?/

I think the lower bracket was there for the rear brake master cylinder reservoir.

thanks, thats the feeling I am getting as well

may be a dumb question, but it doesn't really matter what sub frame is on the bike, as long as all parts line up

I have very little experience with swaping parts off bikes

thanks
