Some of it is their own fault. My local dealer never stocked the parts I needed. They could order them for you, but I could order them for me too. Also, when I'm asking the kid behind the counter for some valves for an 07 YZ 450 and he is asking me if it's a 2 stroke or 4 stroke, I'm kind of wondering why he's there.

Good to know.. I've only ordered small parts from KTM World. The best part (for me) is that I get the parts next day air, so it's worth the extra markup.

"overnight" to many outfits (bike bandit for example) means overnighting your parts after they receive them from wherever they get them from. So you pay $25 overnight shipping and get your parts 3-4 days later. Learned that lesson the hard way too.

Would gladly support a local dealer if there was one. I work two jobs and don't have time to drive an hour & half round trip to the closest Suzuki dealership on my 30 minute lunch break. There used to be a dealer 15 minutes from my house back in the 80s, but they long since closed.

Out of curiosity do you rent movies from Netflix? Think how many local dvd rental stores you're putting out of business....

I order whats cheapest for me, I cannot help that some shops are clueless and have nothing in stock! If my local guy cannot match or beat the price , I order from somewhere else, and he understands that, and matches it. As above posted time and gas prices have had an effect on shopping at dealers. Its my money and i can spend it the way i want!

I wish I had a Suzuki dealer nearby.. the closest is 30 minutes away, not feasable for driving to on lunch break.

Other than "parts of yamaha" which is the same as "suzukipartshouse" among others, where do you guys like to order OEM parts online? Have great service for my KTM with ktm Parts world in Rome, GA. Wish they also sold Suzuki.
Let us know who they are so others can take their business elsewhere.

Dirt bikes do not make or break a MC shop......dirt is small potatoes and everyone wants it for free with little or no profit .....its street bikes that keep the doors open.

that shop actually stocked most dirt parts.........but I rarely needed any parts for my smoker......but yes I ordered most of the 450 stuff on line.

I worked there for a while and lets just say I would only buy from them in a pinch.

I do look for the best deals for the dollar, but still end up at my local Yamaha dealer more often than not. Have been loyal to them since 1975.

They purchased one of those laser cutting machines that have most every paper gasket for nearly every bike on file in the program. It even gives the proper mil thickness for the proper gasket material to be used for each gasket. I buy a few sheets of the paper from them, and they will cut my gaskets for next to nothing.

You just can't get service like that over the webz.

most of the local dealers around here NEVER had it to begin with. i will say ive supported the ones who bring a trailer and sell stuff at the local races

When my son first started to race,I had the pleasure of doing business with a local shop named Stone's Snow sleds. They sold dirt bikes,atv's street bikes,snowmobiles and accessories and parts for them. The mechanics were 100% top notch,the best.This is a small shop in a rural community. I bought every bike my son rode from them and never even tried to get a better price. I paid what they said,which was never list. Never even went somewhere else to see what they would charge. I bought all my parts from them too.They have a great inventory,and if they had to order something for me they would order 2,figuring I'll need one again. They were always there to help,and when we were new at it,we needed a lot of help. I never bought parts online,always got everything from Stone's. They are the shop that every one wishes was 10 miles from there house.That's what you get from your local dealer. Their address is following,but if you need Suzuki or Yamaha parts they will send them to you and you will be happy.
