One Person ruined the whole team Phil Alderton. It really sucks for Weston and Les and the other key people that had something to do with the team.

I assume Weston didn't get too banged-up in his Seattle crash?

And I assumed that because he's built like a tank. What the heck did you feed him?

I would say this too. They have a competitive bike and Weston will be familiar with the Yamaha.

Myself and few other people that know Kehoe have calls and or emails into Kehoe were waiting for a answer. Weston would have 2 weeks to test for SX he would be ready to go for SX and MX.
Westons Seattle crash he hurt his leg and back he's sore now but will be okay.
Thanks everyone.

I am not listening but I am reading... ;-)

We decided to go to the Nationals with Kyle and Tommy in 450. We'll also have Mariana Balbi for the 8 rounds of WMX. A 4th rider would mean to hire another mechanic and add a lot of expenses, bikes, parts, travel, entry fees etc... Nothing against Weston or/and Lou bu it's tough to justify getting another guy when there is no money or really small amount of money coming in for the team. MotoConcepts and Mike Genova are spending already a lot of money to go racing.

How and why did Phil Alderton ruin the deal, I didn't think Phil was even around anymore.

I assume Phil Alderton is/was going to be the team manager for Chaplan Kawi and somehow, according to you his partying led Weston to get fired/leave the team?

If true, why not fire the guy that is "partying"?

Sorry to hear Lou. What started as such positive news a couple of weeks ago really went to hell awfully quick. Good luck to Weston and here's to hoping he finds a ride pretty quick.

Yes, Phil Alderton did leave the reservation, if only briefly.
However, there were other problems with this team. Therefore, using Phil Alderton as a lone scapegoat is lacking in insight for the masses and demonstrates a lack of integrity on Chaplin Kawasaki’s part.
Maybe it’s better for everyone involved that this team never really got off the ground. There is still time for both Westin Peick and Les Smith to find another deal for the upcoming Outdoor Nationals.

Here's an idea.

Maybe Weston should buy a bike and a pick-up. Bam, problem solved. He'd have a bike and the ride he "needs". If he can't afford either, or to travel to the races, then a day job is something he should consider.

Sorry to be the asshole here, but someone had to be.

We were working with Phil (again) and just sent him our contract last week to be a team sponsor. Les was supposed to fly up last Wed to begin testing for the teams bikes.

In texting with Les's mom today they are devastated and unless something pops up Les can not afford to do the nationals. What a shame a top 10 rider is broke after 6 SX's.

Its not that easy to get there (gas, hotels and a safe place for your equipment) and be on top level equipment to make it into the top 5-15 at 12 rounds traveling back and forth across the country. To do the nationals from here your looking at 40,000 miles or $12,000 in just fuel.

I understand that. It seems like everyone has been coming on here begging for a ride from someone and, IMO, it's getting old. If he's good enough, the right people will notice him and take the appropriate steps in giving him the ride he "needs".

I think what you are missing is there are people who read but don not post here that have the authority to give and get rides. Sometimes you have to ask for the ride............ just like in the last Inside The Outdoors with 108 & Mitch.

I do not think your being a asshole, the real world is a tough pill to swallow! The economy sucks, Why not buy a bike and do the local rounds? Its a shame that a fast local pro can t get some type of local shop support! The production bikes are really good! Suspension and pipe and your good to go in the 450 class, 250 s quite a bit more. If your are killing it you will be noticed!

I respect him for trying to find a ride. You have to go find it and earn it, sitting there waiting for a call isn't always an option. I also disagree with well pack it up and get a regular job, hes an easy easy top 10-15 every weekend outdoors. Someone needs to step up and get more money in our sport if your a top 15 guy you should not be poor by any means. Baseball players who sit the bench make 6 figures to throw a stupid a** ball around.

Keep searching something will come soon or later.. If not hit all the rounds you can and train your butt off come out swinging next year supercross and try again.

Weinert was a SX only team

I believe one distinction that needs to be made is between riders seeking rides and riders seeking money/donations.

Weston/Lou Peick have never come on here asking for any free handouts. They've never asked for donations or anything of the sort. They've only made inquiries for a job.

I think there's a big difference between the two, begging for money and asking for a job.

If you're online begging for money, then maybe it is jobby-job time
If you're online putting notice out that you're available for employment, especially because the employment you had lined up fell through, keep on keepin' on.

Weston (and Lou) are nice people. Wes may be a big ass bear of a guy, but he works hard and is really cool. He wants to do his best and wants the best to do it with.

Are you sure about that? Plus I was referring to lumpy's comment "What a shame a top 10 rider is broke after 6 SX's" From what I understand, weinert is picking up the tab for his team. Hence my question, "what happened there?"

Post a reply to: Weston Peick is still looking for a national ride
