If it was coming down to Trey and CR the last couple of rounds do you think Honda would stop giving info and helping out with part because they want THEIR rider to win and if Honda and reed don't have a contract that included those things do you really think they would do that or just be happy that a Honda is about to win the championship

A privateer Honda winning might be better than a factory Honda winning. I don't think they would stop helping Chad out if it came down to the wire.

I love it. Honda had their mouth piece (the king) talking about how Reed wasn't going to be a factor because he didn't have a "Works Honda". Now his success has them back peddling and doing what they can to help Reed win the title.

BTW: I know MC was a bad ass in his day, but this corporate bullshit, and the king belittling Reed in his interview was unnecessary and nothing more than Japanese pride.

Maybe Jeremy believed, at the time, that the Factory bikes had a huge advantage over the production bikes...?

Just goes to show that just because he could ride a bike like no other, doesn't make his opinions automatically right.

Reminds of of last year when Stanton said with great assurance that Milsaps "is done". The very next week Milsaps won a SX and made Stanton sound like a chump.

Sure it does, but how often do you hear the sheep here use the phrase "He's telling it like it is" ?

with how the season has been going i could see that and Honda is the only manufacture with 2 . come Vegas and chads in 2nd and trey in 1st and reed needs the W for the Championship and it doesn't matter if trey gets 1st or 2nd he will still finish the same in the standings I'm not sure that trey is the type of rider to do that i kinda think all the riders just want it to go down how it goes down.

If they have half a brain at Honda they would stop helping anyone but Canard. This season is so over already. He is obviously already the champion. Just give him the plate now.

A little while ago when Reed started getting on the podium regularly I was thinking that Honda were probably kicking themselves for taking Grant over Reed.

Now they are probably thinking they got the deal of the century - instead of forking out a few million per year for Reed, they are slipping him some factory parts and setup information, and now are in the best position to win a title since RC left.

The guys at Honda were insulted by the fact that neither Reed or Pourcel was willing to agree to the terms set forth by Honda. MC was doing what he was told.

Does that make it simple enough for you RaceFace?

Don't you think it was more that Honda wasn't going to pay what they were asking for?

You or I don't know what what the terms were. What is public knowledge is that they couldn't come to terms and make a deal.

You guy's remember when Reedy wore the "for kim" butt patch at the Breast cancer race?

Reed and the king are cool.

Dont watch the videos from Thanksgiving and call them today's news.

There is history between the two that many people forget. A few years ago jeremy had the MCGRATH INVITATIONAL race with a huge purse. Chad was one of the invited riders but said he was interested in doing, as he put it, "a circus side show."

I know Jeremy took great offense to that statement. He said as much, and plenty more about Chad
outside the beer tent at LORETTA's that year. I heard it with my own ears.....he's hilarious.
3/28/2011 3:16am
Reed was also bummed about Jeremy Mc Graths opinions. Arrogance comes to mind...
3/28/2011 4:51am
Jmar, you do realize that Chad is doing as good because he is getting support from Honda right? So how was Mcgrath wrong. Chad would not be doing as well without their support. So that makes Mcgrath 100% correct. Honda gave support because Chad was doing better than expected. But even Chad said, he needed the help from Honda to be at the top of the podium.

Sounded to me like Jeremy was making sure his garage was full of red bikes compliments of Honda. I don't have a problem with that but how some people can't see that is suprising.

So then how do you know that Honda was insulted by them refusing their offer? Probably more the other parties were insulted by the terms offered as evidenced by Honda getting riders to sign a contract and neither of the riders involved getting any acceptable offers by any team. You are very knowledgable about the sport, I think you are just a little off of this one, but that is just my opinion.Wink
