If I understand correctly, the original portion of the game will have outdoors only, and Supercross tracks will be available later as downloadable content.

Same for us. Nice move. I swear it's like you can't keep up with the idiocy of the few companys that try and make a good mx game. Reflex is very fun and challenging. Never gets old cept NOT ENOUGH SX TRACKS!. Now they are going to release 1/2 a game? So next time when I got to Der Wienerschnitzle I can buy the bun but no dog unless I down load it? What a joke.

They're using this game as an experiment in a new business model. Offer the game at a lower price, and then spend money to get the content you want in the game. (Disclaimer: I don't know how much content will or what type of content will be with the released product).

DLC can be successful in some genres... Trouble I think it causes is a lackluster online experience. If not everyone has the same tracks or content, then it creates division in the player base.

I've always thought a cool business model for an mx game would be to have people build the bike themselves by paying actual money for the different parts (minimum cheap bike would be $40 and max $60+)... then the rest of the content would be supplied. That way you still have cheap entry to the game, but the community isn't divided by track content.

Build the community and make it easy for them to play together, then money will follow.

The plan is to sell the game for $40, then you pay for all the other features you want down the line...

Everyone played supercross over motocross in reflex, so they make SX DLC? fail

they know no one plays the shitty MX tracks, so this way they force you to spend money on good tracks.

Wow, they must really hope everyone has online. Mine isn't currently working. Also great question, what will happen if everyone doesn't have the same tracks? I would think that is going to really make online a pain in the ass.

Yeah online is going to suck. They have to release the tracks in packs, so we can be match up with people that have the same track packs.

What if you have a MAC?

And I think it sucks to play a motocross game with a keyboard.

Unlike mxvatv the first person perspective is scary good and much more realistic. You feel the track as you rail the berms and clear jumps. Some people do not have the mental capabilities to enjoy MX Simulator and I hope they don't own bikes.

Yoe never had to play it in first person view. Press the good 'ol tab key and open yourself up to the world of 3rd person riding. Smile

Sell the Mac and get a PC. Most people use a xbox or ps3 controller.

Or a joystick.

And no, I'm not going to go from Mac to PC so that I can play a moto video game.

Sweetest game ever to watch........ that game doesn't corner worth a shit. I don't have days to invest into a game like that. if it was more user friendly I'd prolly never have to buy a new mx game.

They added the names of some ama pro riders to the game to bring it on "par" with Madden? That must mean (like madden) they will have the real venues used by the pros in the game. All 17 AMA Supercross and 12 National facilities. Awesome. Hope they added shifting/engine braking to the game this time. How many pros ride automatics?

I agree 100% with you. I bought mx sim and at first said screw this mess. Left it for weeks and then one day decided that I would utilize the wealth of info on the mx sim forum and try it again. Now after 6 months I am able to rail berms, time jumps, and put in fast consistent laps. If you ever had a chance to watch a competent player pound out laps you would shit your pants.

Its unfortunate that apple dudes are left out in the cold holding their joysticks on this one. It's a price thing. You can build a good PC for less than the cost of a Ipad. We will just have to get through this without you guys. lol

MX Simulator and MX vs ATV Unleashed are the two best moto games out there right now, based off the fact that you can upgrade bike models/skins/gear/tracks/etc. Reflex is fun, but i'd rather play MvA with downloadable tracks. I haven't had the chance to buy MX Simulator, the demo was really hard.
