- He didn't want to end up on the ground and lose more points (said that in a post race interview).
- Canard checked out once he passed him back (don't recall the opportunity he had with Stewart)
- He doesn't have a history with Canard. Some riders who have had rivalries can easily light a fire under one another's asses. Guy Cooper said when Ward passed him during the 1990 Atlanta supercross way back when (the closest Guy ever got to winning a 250cc main) he didn't have the fight left in him that he would have had if someone else had passed him (i think he said RJ, but not sure).
- They both ride for Honda? Not technically, but Factory Honda does flow Reed some parts and pissing them off wouldn't be wise.
....Just saying.

Chad's won championships and knows what it takes... And Trey rides a honda...
Imagine if Stewart was on a Factory Honda this year and how things may have played out differently.
And yeah Reed is smart.
Personally I think RD is the dark horse here. I wouldn't be surprised to see him clean a couple of people out. He's pretty desperate for that win.
Your comment sir makes me hate Chad more and more.
I'm positive i haven't got you wrong your an idiot!
I believe thats irony right there.
Reed had alot more to gain on the people ahead of him in points by playing it a little safer here. When he blocked Stewart he wasn't gaining anything if he just hung back.
Pit Row
No point taking massive risks for an extra couple of points when there are 20+ on offer playing it relatively safe.
You have to be within striking distance before you can strike.
By passing Stewart, he had 3 points to gain... by passing Canard sat night, he had 3 points to gain. That's the point here... he was conservative on Saturday but not in Atlanta, why? That's what I am asking... I understand the points situation, it's not a good explanation of why he rode differently.
If Bubba finishes the season him and 22 will tangle again, only this time it will probably be Bubba making the questionable pass as he has nothing to loose now. As a result this championship will come down too RV and RD.
It's been a great season though! Can't wait for T.O. this weekend!
2. He and Trey get along.
3. And probably most important, Trey was far back in the points. I believe right now he is still 20 points behind Reed with the win. If Reed was battling for the title with him it may have been a different story
Reed was gaining 20 points by not being overly agressive in Jax, he would have been losing 3 points in Atlanta. Nobody ahead of him in points beat him in Jax.
They bumped a little but there was never a clear spot to drive it in on him for a pass without high risk.
The whoops were looking like Reed's passing point and he couldn't get it set up on the last couple laps.
Post a reply to: Why wasn't Reed just as aggressive with Canard?
