Coenen brothers were already in the budget for '27.  Eli's $$ is not required for them at all.

And isn't Makita coming to Pipes?  That seems to also cover the $$ needed for Chase.

It's getting interesting for sure.

They’ve had Makita as a sponsor for a while already.

Yes, but aren’t they are upping their participation as a primary, with a new hauler and hospitality setup, etc?

That’s different…

I haven’t heard that but it would be awesome if that were true. I do know they’re going to have a third rig and they have a new big sponsor that develops data centers or something.

Well, we agree they've got something coming...  my info is hearsay and probably sketchy at best.

But with Roczen back on for '27, that needs to be taken in to account...

Suzuki is Chase's only option. You think KTM or any other of the big manufs other than Suzuki will give him factory parts or support? No way. Doesn't matter who he rides for...Suzuki is the only brand he can still get some factory support. No other factory/manuf is giving him parts. I'd say it's 90% yellow or he doesn't even ride next year.

Every team will want him if they can get him. He is only 1 of 3 active riders with both a mx and sx title on a 450. Every manufacturer would swallow any pride and hire him, he is a caliber of rider that only a few are in the world regardless of last year or two.

Kawasaki don't want him, I'd be prepared to bet that Honda don't want him.  If he goes back to KTM I do wonder if it would only be on terms very favourable to KTM.

My take in the Suzuki deal is this, the teams have have been working on optimizing the quantity and location of rotating mass. The Yamaha was a turd until Star put a lighter crank in it and used hybrid forks. Honda's new 450 engine rearranged where things are located relative with each other. The end result is a bike that switches direction easier. It's one of the fundamentals of physics. So despite all the frame changes, stiffer backbones, flex adjustments etc. we've been sold, the biggest advancements have been in the engine mass and how it affects handling. I think Pipes was able to, much like Star, use some exotic components internal to the engine to get the bike to switch directions easier. Horsepower and suspension components can always be changed in the 450 class, the production rule doesn't affect those. If you've got the resources, you could do the same with a 2017 Honda or a 2018 YZ450.

250 class would be more difficult I suspect, the components are already lighter and air flow restrictions seem the distinguishing factor more than anything else.

Sounds like everyone is going for a 'more free/revving engine' which frees the chassis up.
