Kind of an odd question...but what actually happens when a rider leaves a team? Does he have to give back certain items that are team related he may have? Like parts, clothes, advertising photos for the races etc?? It always intrigued me as to what actually occurs.
Depends if he signed a pre-nup or not.
Drop off your laptop, company phone and badge…maybe exit interview with some random HR lady..
And do the walk of shame in front of the whole office.
That's what happened to me anyway..
If you’re Masterpool, you just keep everything, including the bikes, and use everything to practice on.
The Shop
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Some six-time world champ's sell all their teamwear on Vinted...
In stick and ball sports clothing typically gets donated as the new team supplies new stuff pretty fast. Kawasaki can probably ask for some stuff back. I would expect all equipment and proprietary items were already at the shop or returned. I would expect he has enough AStars gear to wear to keep him clothed.
Empty your locker… if it was not done before…
The hardest part is negotiating the contract. Both parties are implicated. (In writing, Kawasaki owes him $, a race machine, and any number of practice bikes, plus personnel support at the track. Chase owes Kawasaki some number of race performances, personal appearances, and de-facto spokesperson activity for the brand (ride only Kawasakis, display logos, speak well about the brand.) Both parties would have to agree to terminate the agreement as of some termination date and agree upon the terms. It would most likely involve the return of some money if his contract was prepaid, return of any Kawasaki-owned property, and a two-sided non-disclosure agreement.
What if there's drugs in there?
You take the backwards hat off.
Things get collected. There's a closet or attic, sometimes a extra building. Things get boxed and stacked. Then, there's a cleaning, for more space, and a random employee sells them on ebay, offer up or marketplace.
I've seen it.
I haven't seen that, but I've heard about it.
Some would sell all their factory Suzuki parts to fund a privateer Honda with factory Suzuki forks and go out and win the 125 west title.
Then thank Suzuki for all the parts they let you sell to get a decent bike on the podium.
Falcon, Keep an eye out. I've seen it over the years, in our general area. Actually, more by you than by me. I will share next time I see it.
Haha. Who was that?
I’m thinking Ty Davis. 1990 west champ.
