YES go back to the way it was with 20 riders! When they changed it to 22 riders, it just increased first turn crashes, first lap crashes, lappers who get lapped 3 times and the track breaking down. Then they lengthened the mains, added start devices and grates. No one who qualified 21st or 22nd ever won the main.

Time to update qualifying. Remember all the old formats? https://motocrossactionmag.com/a-brief-history-of-supercross-formats-through-the-decades/

Now they just need to go back to 250SX points not counting towards earning a national number.

In addition to no more grates and banning starting devices, riders should be required to race on the same tire they qualified on.

That's dumb. Practically every motorsport racing uses qualifying tires and a harder tire for racing.

No grates, allow "farming" behind the gate, and prep front of gate all the way across to a uniform surface so all riders have fairly equal dirt in front of the gate. NOT 3ft deep prep.

I’ve seen photos of wildly tall starting blocks, used by riders who don’t have a problem reaching the ground. I’m pretty sure they do that for some reason..

They arent pushing off of them. The bike is moving too fast for them to be of any value for pushing off of. They anchor them down so they do move when they do take off. The tall ones are so you dont have to move your feet to the pegs as much.

Not a fan of this at all.  No wonder everyone can track out of the gate perfectly with full gas.

Should we let a weaker guy use performance enhancing drugs as well?

With rumours swirling around about a possible scoop tire prohibition, what about changing the conditions so scoops become a disadvantage? Teams openly favour muddy conditions and grates because they want their engine/mapping packages to have the best possible advantage. Meanwhile, scoops are rarely seen in SX and there are some MXGP rounds which call for an intermediate tire, because the starts are prepped to a minimum thin layer of dirt. Stop ripping the start 3ft deep and ditch the grates.

At first I was a supporter of allowing starting pegs so shorter riders could have comfortable accessibility on the line, but unfortunately it has been abused to the point where riders don't barely take their feet off the pegs and entirely mutuated traditional starting technique. Zero reason why someone over 6ft tall or able to sit on their bike with their feet planted flat on the ground should be allowed to use starting blocks.

So you want them to have more speed going into the first turn instead of less speed going into the first turn? Because the deep tilled start area is to keep the speeds down going into the first turn!!
