He's dedicated his life to this? - so has everyone he's racing against (last time I checked, there were not doctors, lawyers, etc lined up next to him)

Top 3 winningest (is that a word?) riders of all time? - that's to be admired, not a reason to like the guy

Jumped Laroccos leap on a 125? - So did, um, what's his name..........Larocco

Won multiple championships inside and out and helped America win the MXDN? - so have many of his competitors but once again, reason for admiration, which I admitted to, not for liking him as a person

If I'm guilty of anything, it's trying to like the guy. That's why I suffer through his terrible show every episode and watch all of the interviews he does, but it's counterproductive to liking him. If you want to be a fan of any rider for his commitment, dedication, and winning streak, how about Chad Reed. It's very arguable that he has risked and given up far more in his life, with less talent to back him up, to get to where he is.

Some of the Stewart fans tend throw around things that he has acompilshed like he was the first to do them, like Larocco"s leap covered above, a perfect season (Charmichael did it 2002 and 2004, and went undefeated in 1998 125 East Region SX), and Stewart is credited with the "Bubba scrub" which he did not come up with it, that was JoJo Keller. I must say that the Bubba scrub sounds better than the JoJo scrub and James has it down to an art.
I will reiterate what I said before, although I am not a fan of his I have much respect for what he can do on a motorcycle on a track and his post crash ride in Daytona was awesome but once again was not the first, epic comeback after a crash with injury. He is one tough dude but there are plenty of tough rides on the circuit that get no love, not trying to knock James but to cast light on the unsung men throwing down week after week without throngs of star struck followers.

If you are referring to my post I never said he was the first to do anything, and for the record I'm a fan of every rider that can qualify for a Main Event or Pro National. It's much more fun that way.
I was agreeing with and adding to your comment on Larocco's leap. I'm with you on being a fan of them all to some degree, still have a handfull of them I like more than the rest.

People seem to have a VERY short memory. How long ago was everyone talking shit about him pulling out of races when he wasn't winning? How long ago was everyone talking about how many people he's crashed into/ landed on? How about everyone bagging on him about ALL the questionable decisions he's made in the past. Which ammounts to a lot of questionable decisions. Very short memory people. IMO, he's changed 0%. Same old Bubba. What about the questionable decision of riding over his head when he already has a 6 1/2 sec. lead last Sat. Same old Bubba, different twist.

It bores the hell outta me when someone, especially James, get's the holeshot and runs away.

On the other-hand: it absolutely SCARES the hell ouuta me when I see James stumbling back to and falling off of the bike; yet, he still get's on it and GOES!

I really was wondering if he shoulda been allowed to go back out there so quickly.

At the end of the day...he put in a stellar effort and he's still the fastest guy out there.

He's NOT the most consistent nor is he the luckiest.

James is still the guy that everyone knows they HAVE to Beat to get the Championship.

Period.

Ask Chad.

I agree with everything you said TeamGreen except one thing. The luck part. I'd say he's very lucky/fortunate to have come out of some of the crashes he does and still walk. No doubt he's amazing to watch when he's on but it just seems like your watching an accident waiting for a place to happen.

You are correct, sir.

Aerosmith covered this...

"Livin' on the Edge".

But, that's what makes watchin' James so cool...especially when he DOESN'T get a Good Start.

Yeah I get what you are saying and that is your opinion. The "hard-core" fans I know look at the rider who has dedicated his entire life to be the best from the time he was 3 years old, is one of the top three winningest riders of all time, battled with the greatest rider in history at 20 years old on a two stroke, jumped Laroccos leap on a 125, won multiple Championships indoors and out, helped America win the MXDN twice, and has possibly worked harder than any other rider to get where he is, and many etc.... It all depends on if you are trying to find positives in people or negatives.

Come on keep it going. Just as James was NOT the first to do those things you described. He ALSO was NOT the first rider to TRY to dance before and after Winning a race (Ricky Johnson) and he was NOT the first rider to slow up to Humiliate another rider (Bob Hannah) in fact Bob would slow up to Hit another rider. James was NOT the friggin first Rider to show off his nice cars ( Jeff Ward and Johnny O Parking their Porchas in the Pits next to the box vans, keidrowski and his Red Farrari in the Pits. MC and his Honda Sports car ( can't remember the name of it. But how about his HUGE Mercedez?

Why do you guy continue to Nit Pick In order to find reasons to hate ( be negative) on James?

RC stepped out onto a Track and got Nailed By Alberteen. Because he was in a hurry to get back into the race, and at St. Louis in one of his last races RC completely landed on another Riders Back. Or was it at San Francisco? I can go on and on. But a lot of you WANT an excuse to hate on James. As if he was/ is/will be the last rider to do things you guys do not like.

There is NOT one of our Pro riders I can think of who I hate or dis like. But I do know quite a few of the "industry Insiders" I dislike because they are often the ones who start this crap or let it happen without doing their jobs and fact checking or disputing things and when some do, they only do it for their favorites.

I just wish he would do the outdoors. On second thought, no, don't do the nationals, that way we can see some actual racing instead of another perfect season. Those get boring.
perfect season? with dungey, canard, RV, pourcel and reed there?! Not to mention the likes of desalle, and hopefully cairoli coming over for a race or 2 (i will be very surprised if ktm dont have cairoli do at least one ama national next season)
not a chance- I'd love james to do the FULL national series, but its very naive to think he could acheive a perfect season with the current field of riders.

Surely if he doesnt win the supercross title(which looks likely to happen at the moment) he will have to think about running the full outdoor series?

Respect for stewart? I respect the things he can do on a bike, anybody that has ever ridden a motocross bike can see that he is a great rider, but I'm not a fan- I think you have to earn respect, and I dont feel he gives enough respect to other riders on the track (ie jumping across the track and taking other riders out etc)
I am not a fan of his ego!

Also, not acknowledging everts' great ride at the des nations- I will never forgive him for that!

Just giving him respect when he does something that warrants respect and criticizing him when he does something that warrants criticism.

Nothing to do with short memories.

Mike DID NOT do the Leap on a 125!! It was on a 250 and about 20 feet shorter than when Bubba did it on a 125. Sorry, but you are dead wrong on that one.

I think Stewart is the most gifted rider in the world and certainly the fastest when he wants to be, but he's also one of the most unpredictable riders on the track and one of the most aloof off it.

A flawed genius perhaps?

The aftermath of the Reed incident aside he has definitely shown more maturity & humility so far this year which has raised my opinion of him thats for sure.

Well, how do I say this..... I'm not wrong.

Larocco cleared it on his KX125 years before anyone even thought it was possible. Sure, the landing wasn't as high, but that's because it wasn't supposed to be a landing. It was originally the top of the hill. It wasn't until he started jumping it (on his 125) that they formed it into and actual landing.

Then Travis Pastrana did it in 2001, also on a 125.

RC went for it in his 125 days as well and I think he ended up exploding a wheel.

You are talking about the "double" that Red Bud owner built as the replica of a jump called "Kong" that Larocco had on his private track. When they stretched it out in to a triple, there is no way a 92 KX125 is clearing TODAYS Larocco's Leap. In 93 ML was in the 250 class.

Yes, the very last statement you made is true. But Larocco was the first to clear the hump that is now the landing, and he did it in 92 on his 125. Since then, RC, Pastrana and Stewart have jumped it (in that order) with it's current higher landing on 125s. So even if you don't want to give Larocco credit since the landing hadn't been built yet, Stewart would still have been the 3rd person to jump it on a 125.

Also if I remember correctly, Larocco's leap is very different than it was years ago. I believe it was changed when the AMA and PACE (Feld) went at it over SX and the FIM said that Larocco's Leap had to be knocked down, and they met in the middle by building up the landing.

If you want to dislike a racer, dislike a racer. But when it starts to consume the bulk of your post count, it's time to take a few steps back and consider a sabbatical.
