I'm like "people who drive with their hood up"? Like what does that even mean? Today I saw a challenger with pins in the corners, the hood was not latched down but held there by the hair pins. So like 1/2-3/4" up. Is that what you mean? So confused. Please explain for the dumb people here (me).

I think he's talking about hoodies, and driving with them up eliminating all perifrial vision.

I was lost for a while too.

I know chance is a hero around here but.... wearing Vans for anything but skating always bugged me. Used to be if you saw somebody wearing Vans, it meant one thing. They were a skater and you just made a new friend. Thats one peeve. The other is people who label people for what kind of shoes they wear.

If I see anyone around my age or older wearing skate shoes I either A: think it's pretty rad he still skates or B : know what it's like to walk around with sore feet and ankles all day.

Ummmm. Who said I didn’t skate? I have three decks that I’ll occasionally play with. I also wear Vans when I ride around on my HARO. Yeah, I stil skate but, I’m better on a BMX bike.

That’s the equivalent of seeing a person wearing an Aplinestars hat and, when you ask them, what kinda bike do you ride, they say…. I don’t ride. I hate that myself 😂

Those shoes actually worked out really well for me. I bought them because I’ve worn Vans since I was a kid. Yes, I skate.  I’m older and, I suck but, I still have fun.
I also needed a good pair of thin soled shoes for sensitivity with a bass pedal (yup, suck at that too but, I’m learning)…

I really like them for doing dead lifts and, squats. I tried several shoes but, didn’t like the squishy feeling when going heavy. I tried those Vans and, I liked the direct contact with the ground and, stability.

Last but, not least… I’m a smart ass. Not a hero buddy. But, thanks for the compliment… 🤝

Also, I can tell if someone is being judgmental just by looking at them.

That’s awesome. I always liked the two tone Vans.

Funny how a lot of people think Vans were just a skater shoe. Growing up in So Cal, I remember surfers, guys who rode BMX, skaters, stoners playing hackey sack wearing vans. Even all my friends who ride dirt bikes wore Vans. Does that mean I’m old? 😂

Can’t have ya running around with F’d off kicks man. If you need some shoes, PM me.

I’m a dick to some people and, get a kick out of stirring the pot but, it’s usually in response to some stupidity. If I get clicked in the process and, they go down with me, it’s a win for the board lol. Nobody gives a shit about pie charts and, OW’s shitty bumper sticker collection.

Yeah, PF flyers were ok. No Keds. Jack Purcells were elite. None of us could afford em. "Run faster jump higher".  Everybody wore high tops.

When I was a kid, we’d put a rubber band around the sprayer. Mom, wasn’t happy when she got sprayed!!!!

Aaaaaaaahhhh !!!!! This fucking shit…….  Loaned out a brand new impact wrench. I used it once on a countershaft sprocket, it was still in the box which was brand new looking still. Kid that works for me borrows that and my channel locks to do his brake pads and discs on his truck. Returned them with grease all over the  channel locks, greasy paw prints and scratches on the impact wrench like he drug it to where he was by the cord across the concrete. The thing was literally brand new. WTF…. Unwritten rule, if you borrow tools or any equipment, you return them cleaner than you got them. And you sure as fuck don’t drag a goddamn brand new tool across the ground. Fuckin A….. someone’s about to get an unpleasant phone call 😐IMG 8752 0IMG 8753 2.jpeg?VersionId=0pK61VTt r.9 PouKK0KcIMG 8754 1.jpeg?VersionId=lKZh

I'm going to be an asshole here but...

Don't come to me on a jobsite asking to borrow my tools, tape measure (for just a minute), screws, glue, sandpaper, or whateverfuckingthing you didn't bring to do your job.

It always ends up with me running around looking for my own stuff when I need it.

And never are things like fasteners, glue, etc... ever returned.

Shit comes out of my pocket at the same stores they drive past in the morning.

Yeah, I'm that asshole.

Shit comes out of my pocket at the same stores they drive past in the morning.

Yeah, I'm that asshole.

^^^ 100% agree. Don't feel bad. After the phone call I just made my employee thinks I'm an asshole too LOL.

He works for me and needs his truck to work so getting his shit fixed needs to happen asap. He try's to save money by working on his truck himself, but he just had to buy new discs because he ignored the squeakers in the brake pads until it turned to grinding. Way to save bro..... Anyway he got the speech his dad forgot to give him. Don't returned borrowed shit back dirty !   Come on dude, that's not even an "Unwritten Rule" it's on page one in the man manual lol

I remember borrowing a journeymans 12 inch calipers when I was first starting out . I came back from break and they were gone . Instead of laying them on the shop towel on the bench I laid them on the bench itself . He never said a word ,just took them back , I realized what I did . I never asked to borrow anything from him after that.

My dad had a bad ass set of tools in the garage, for all kinds of projects.

Cars, home repairs, carpentry, electrical, welders both gas and arc.

And no matter how carefully I put things back where I found them... he knew !!!

My first car (64 dodge dart wagon with a slant 6, one barrel carburetor, and a push botton auto transmission) came with a tool box he set up for me. Basic stuff, and a list of other things I'd eventually need.

His way of saying, DON'T COME BORROWING MY SHIT.

I guess being an asshole is hereditary.

I am right there with both of you, I learned long ago not to loan out tools or power equipment...
...over two decades ago someone returned my mower and some tools in the same manner, PLUS the gas tank was empty...
...when the mower was borrowed it had a full tank of gas, since that day the answer has aways been NO...
...I don't borrow your stuff, don't ask to borrow mine.
