Evel stayed at the Radisson Hotel near my house a lot. I rode my bike down there and hung out in the lobby and met him when I was about 10 years old.

He was one of my heroes growing up.

I wonder how many of us had the 'Cycle Jumpers' book with Evel and Gary Wells...?

Incredibly, I still have it. Cover is missing, but here it is in all it's glory.

After a ride, open face, rubber boots, jeans and a flannel shirt jacket...that's pretty old school (International Scout, my school driver):

When those Mag wheels came out and we found out they were guaranteed for life we had to have them. We put them on and rode down to the grocery store loading docks . They dropped off about 6 feet onto concrete and it took us about an hour to break those Mag wheels. We took them back and got some new ones!

Didn’t Pierre have a house in Mission Viejo at one point?
