I honestly think he needs a new bike. The Yamaha just doesn't appear to be working. He shouldn't have the things happening to him that he does week in and week out. Villopoto looks way comfortable on that Kawasaki. I think if James was on a Kawasaki we would have seen different outcomes a few weeks where he has been wrecking. He looked super sketch in the first few laps of the heat. His front end looks soooo stiff.
You do know the suspension is now where near stock, don't you? It is the most high tech you can get and set up for him, if it doesn't work they fix it. This was just a minor mistake with major results.

P's weight shifted when James got on the gas causing the crash. After the race James said that P's lips got tired due to track conditions and a high nut sack salt.

I never was a Stewart fan until '06 and '07 when he just kept coming back at Carmichael in the outdoors, no matter how hard he crashed or how fast he had to go, he'd do it. The guy has more heart than anyone and he has more speed than anyone. But he's paid a big price, and he just goes back out there and pays it again if that's what it takes. People can dislike the TV show, the cars, the flash and bling all they want, but when the gate drops the only thing on his mind is he wants to win the race.

Amazing he remounted and got back to 9th...and that jumping that wall jump was insane. Just a shame looked like he just grabbed a little too much throttle in that section. Should be interesting to see what he can do with the points deficit.

Yes I do know that. I'm not the only one speculating about the new YZF. Matthes and JT$ were talking about it in a podcast before the season even started.

absolutely...there are still plenty of races to go...RV will (or should) at some point have a DNF...not wishing it on him, but it's just what happens.

James can still win even without a RV DNF if he rides solid and consistent...something he sadly struggles with, but to say it's over for him would be ridiculous.

For an on topic post I will say that Stewart's ride was most impressive. At the same time not in any way surprising... I said it all week, he's gonna smoke everyone or crash. He crashed, at Daytona, again. He rode from last to 7th 2 years ago... In '06 he flew off the track like a ragdoll (endoed then too)... His performances at Daytona are almost always bitter sweet, but probably, a lot more bitter...

That was incredible. Was never really a fan before... but after seeing that tonight you almost can't help but pull for the guy!!
most rider would have either a) packed it up there and called it a night, or b) rode around like a parade lap for the remainder of the race.

I am not trying to stir the pot but RC adjusted to 3 different brands just fine, CR22 adjusted to 3 brands just fine also, many others could be listed but you get the point. And I am not bagging on 7's skills either

I suppose you mean indoors instead of outdoors. "he has more speed than anyone..."

Stewart still has a shot at it. He is 23 points behind Villopoto. If Stewart wins the remaining 8 races he would win the Championship.

Not likely, but possible
He's lucky that there are five guys out there that can win races this year - if Villo has a bad race, he's more likely to get 5th or lower rather than second like it normally is when there are only two or three real contenders. But he's way back, it's going to take a mistake by Villo.

The last season he rode outdoors he went 24 and oh, in case that news hasn't made it to Ohio yet.

JS7 displayed unbelievable speed in the heat. Gnarly wreck in the main then comes back to 9th. The dude is a complete psycho. By far the most entertaining racer on the track. I cannot believe the racing.
I sure enjoyed waching him try that front flip. I know he had a big lead but he shouldnt have been trying to do freestyle tricks out there.

"Anyone" throws a hasty net around Richard Carmichael II as well. Grinning Grinning

Better aim next time.
