Why does this keep getting mentioned on the broadcast and podcasts?
I would imagine the point of the calls is to discuss key things to talk about during the race, but instead it kinda comes off like a cool kids club.
The whole, I’m on a group chat and I know something you don’t know is becoming quite painful in podcasts
“Im on a group chat with uhh I can’t say who, and they told me.. I probably shouldn’t say” Are we in elementary school again?
Lowest quality production in the industry is the entire ama operations.
I think it's the only way they think they can sound exclusive and authoritative with information.
If they spoke the truth, it would sound something more like, "for the most part, we follow the same 150 accounts on Instagram and X that you all do. The difference is those accounts answer our DMs quickly and consistently."
That doesn't sound nearly as cool as their "Darkwing Duck" routine.
Yeah, I am sure they have insider info that they don’t wanna leak, but if it’s not public, then don’t say anything at all..
All of us are in way cooler group chats than Steve could ever sink his fingers into

It's "The Calls" bro!
Lol
I am not entitled to be in any group chats or to know who divulged information to whom or when/how they did it. But I agree that phrasing it that way repeatedly has a subtle elitist vibe and there's probably a more tactful way to release some good juice.
Doesn't keep me up at night though.
I find it hilarious how the powers that be and moto media get into their cool kids club circle jerk. No one more nauseating than Steve and “Big Lew” together on a Monday night. We all love this sport so we know how you guys are SUPER IMPORTANT and extremely critical to the future of it but please understand 99% of the people on this planet don’t know who the real stars … Eli, Jett, Kenny, etc are, let alone you goofs. Deep deep inside, yeah I’m sure you are 👌🏻
I've complained about something similar. I don't like it when journalists talk about their exclusive group chats and calls but don't mention what the information is. Like, "my industry contact told me something interesting but I can't talk about it on air, I'll message you about it later."
But if they're willing to disclose what was said on a group call then I don't really care that they mention that they'rein some exclusive group. If anything it's better to know if the info they're sharing came from an anonymous source or was said in a group setting.
If I had a dollar for every time Steve says “one of the group text I’m on.”
Post a reply to: “We spoke about it on our calls during the week”
