I know this in non-moto but I wont get many replies if I put it there so. My course choices are due on Friday and the school is making a big deal out of it and saying what we choose these next 2 years decides what our future is. I'm only in gr 10. i dont know what I want to be! I sort of want to have my own custom auto buisness but owning a buisness is a risk, i was also thinking of an engineer or dentist, Dr or something, i'd also like something high paying. Money wise i'd like to have enough for an average house maybe more (not a mansion) with lots of land so i can have my own track! and maybe a used lamborghini gallardo. You guys are wise and have lots of knowledge that is why i'm asking you

Doing something you hate will get you no where. You have no drive to work harder because you hate your job already and doing it more just makes things worse.
I say "Military". I have wished for years that I would have joined the Navy when they were calling every other day 20 years ago. I told the recruiter "I dont like taking orders." He said " well maybe the Navy isnt for you then." I thought I got off the hook easy.
Now I realize how much more living I could have done if I would have just signed up. Yeah, I would have missed out on lots of moto, but I wouldn't have all these crooked bones, and arthritis.
Just throwin it out there kid. You can retire after, I think, 20 yrs! Damn nice benefit right there!
In the 10th grade, I had just gotten my pro license. We didn't do the home school nonsense in those days....so I missed a ton of Friday's and Mondays during the spring and fall. My grade point when I graduated was about 3.0, and I had NO plans on being a doctor. I was racing moto "for a living" (har!) and gonna be the next big thing. Two years and too much money later, I finally bagged the moto career, and only then dreamed up becoming a doctor.

A job nobody has ever heard of or knows anything about. You will need a 4yr degree, preferably research/medical oriented. Knowing somebody in the industry that is willing to vouch for you is huge as well. You may need to start small but within a few years you can start making serious money. That job isn't the most exciting but it involves a lot of travel (which I happen to enjoy) and pays $70-$90 an hour depending on your experience. I loop SX/MX races, snowboard trips, and mini vacations into my work schedule all the time and all my travel, accommodations, and meals are paid for. You're off every weekend and if you work as a contractor you are your own boss. If you're smart, you only travel 2-3 days a week and work at home 1-2 days. Oh, I didn't mention that. You don't report to an office, you work from your home office.

My 2 cents.
I am 48 yrs. old and have had 5 vastly different careers, (enjoyed everyone) don't think your going to be trapped for the next 50 yrs. with this one decision.
In Canada some guys sign up for the military get an education paid and go back to private life with a degree, it can be in dental, medical etc.
BUT my advice is: Stay in college as long as you can. Enjoy it!
I was young and stupid and I thought those days would last forever, but here I am - already in my 30's - wishing I could go back and do it all over again.
Oh, get a business degree. You can do almost anything with that - work for yourself or work for somebody else.
I run my own business and wouldn't trade it for the world.
My suggestion is to take AP classes if your school offer them (especially math and science), and keep your GPA high. Do that and you can get into pretty much any college you want.

Politics and publicly funded positions, Robotics, and Medical Fields seem to be weathering the current economic storm very well.
