Funny you say block pass...that was no block pass. James put a text book block pass on Reed in the finish line corner and they didn't go down.

I thought Chads attempt at that pass was way over the top but if James isn't mad then hey let the boys race.

I think this might have lit a little fire in James. Can't wait for Daytona

James was accelerating HARD out of the turn while Chad was aiming for the bleachers.
If anyone thinks that was an attempt at a block pass they might need to get their eyeballs and head examined!!

I guess as an ex champion he didnt know what he was looking at either.

You guys just crack me up. They could make a 30 minute + 2 video of all the top stars of the sport over the last 20 years-Carmichael, Stewart, Reed, Windham, etc. etc. stopping RIGHT IN FRONT of another rider in a corner. Give me a break.

Yep, and lost 2nd place points, and maybe 1st, and let RV extend his points lead.
Very big screw up on CR's part.
That was no block pass, it was a block take-out.

Past passes and past history dont mean shit. Are you saying you like to see the two guys battling for the win crash? The guy attempting to make a pass has the responsibility to do so without causing a crash. Sure they have happened and they will continue to happen but in this case it was flat out dirty riding. James has a wheel on him so many times and showed restraint, Chad didnt have the balls to show the same respect!!

Wow, what's the next intelligent thing you are going to say today? It was a racing incident and Stewart should have protected his inside line 5 turns from the finish with Chad Reed right on his rear tire. End of story.

Go re-watch the race. James was hard on the gas even before the apex. The speed he had coming out of that corner there is no way he could have stopped or avoided that wreck. Why are people saying James should have missed reed, reed was the one going for the take out not james.

Anyone calling that incident "great" in a positive way or a "pass" of any kind is 2 sandwiches shy of a picnic.

1) It took both riders out, so it wasn't successful. So no, a pass was not made. You can't call it a pass.

2) The only way you can use "great" to describe it would be "great mistake" or "great ignorance" on Chad Reeds part.


3) Nothing positive happened for either rider as a result. Reed lost 3 more points than he would have had if he just rides like a smart experienced champion. Instead Reed decided to look like a local privateer trying to make it in the main in a LCQ!

People bash JS7 left and right, but that totally uncalled for move looked just like the one Reed ended his season on last year.

Successful block passes look like the one JS7 put on Reed. Every racer on the planet has the ability to run directly in front of a rider and take them out. Do we always do it?? I have never taken someone out just because I knew it was the ONLY way I was going to make a "SUCCESSFUL" block pass.

I have been pulling for JS7 and CR all year, but I'm done with Reed now. That was a total bs move and total lack of respect to JS7! Reed knows better!!!

If I was in Reeds position, I would probably have done the same thing. Having his best race in maybe two years and wanting very badly to beat James..................

The key to your statement is "in a corner" not 50 ft past the apex in the exit.

Maybe this is why your pro career was so short. Oh wait... were you ever a pro? The only way Stewart could have avoided someone coming across the WHOLE TRACK and aiming for his front wheel is to hug the inside tuff blocks. But, if you knew your ass from your elbow, you'd know that you don't hug the inside of a turn (especially when there's not a single tire track there, much less a rut to rail) just before the whoops. He needed to get his speed up to blitz the whoops. There was nothing Stewart should have done differently - I'm sure if Reed were in a position to make a legitimate pass, Stewart would have had his eyes peeled for him, but when you have to cut across an entire corner only to end up at the exit of the corner at the same time as the guy in front of you - you can't make a successful pass.

Please please please stop with all this sensitivity and crying about what is and isnt a block pass... you obviously either are a casual observer, or weekend trail rider that has never set a wheel at a local race track or ever truly raced. there should be more real riding with emotion and determination like this, instead of the.... oh well Stewart is going to win so i am just going to circle the track and take second. hey my mommy said that we are all winners and we all get an A for effort... it’s not whether you win or lose its, awww golly gee, it’s how you play the game... along with ever other crappy cliché that has turned this country into a bunch of pansies.... what ever happened to nice guys finish last.... and second place is the first looser?

I hope CR and every other rider on the track keep their aggresion and intensity up for the remainder of what is becoming one of the most exciting "straight up" season I have ever seen!

The only way Stewart could have avoided someone coming across the WHOLE TRACK and aiming for his front wheel is to hug the inside tuff blocks. But, if you knew your ass from your elbow, you'd know that you don't hug the inside of a turn (especially when there's not a single tire track there, much less a rut to rail) just before the whoops. He needed to get his speed up to blitz the whoops. There was nothing Stewart should have done differently - I'm sure if Reed were in a position to make a legitimate pass, Stewart would have had his eyes peeled for him, but when you have to cut across an entire corner only to end up at the exit of the corner at the same time as the guy in front of you - you can't make a successful pass.
Lol, ok. Stewart was smart to take the outside line and leave the door wide open in a 180 turn with Chad Reed right behind him 5 turns from the finish. All the other commentors-pro or non pro-who say otherwise are wrong. You are right.
