Rich's crash brought out some emotions on the board-some good some bad.
Bauer was the premiere candleflame under the melting pot. People chose sides. Dave tried to help at first then turned against mike.

Hillbilly, Rm250guy and me stayed out of it until w were the only three left (and I think, Gohugenow).

Sooo many people...Bauer? TFS? It was evil. MikeeP had no clue what kind of power he held at the time. I told him!!!! Be more diplomatic if you want this thing to succeed. He was like an ignorant fool who had had no clue. He tried to be too much.

What a load of shit, Ger

Rich or Bauer had nothing to do with it and as for your claim that I "turned against mike" is more shit.

Mike started making crazy claims, bottomline.
He claimed his family invented the pneumatic tire, the gooseneck trailer, wrote the bible and all kinds of crazy shit, not too mention his wild hit claims of hundreds of thousands a day.... it was due to that people started in on Mike and even started manipulating his hit count.
On top of all that, it was realized Mikeee had a few fake user names and got busted on it... ever notice you never saw ~Kong~ again after the demise of FD?

Mike tried to play big man and Mike tried to manipulate the forum and it's members and got caught.

Not to mention the numerous claims of his drug abuse, that did not help

His alter egos pretty much ruined the show for him........

I wish I still had the thread saved where he forgot to log off the STFU name and posted as Mike. That was classic as hell.

"Murph" was a boxer or some such -- according to the storyline..

The demise of FD ws the biggest pile-on I have ever seen, and Mike asked for a lot of it. You're blind if you don't remember that hand that Beefus & Bauer played in instigation.

Bauer just hated Mike, plain and simple.... long before the demise of FD

and TFS' claim of an evil plan is bullshit because the exodus the MD was well underway before the big meltdown... both of them just piled on like everyone else

oh, and speaking of boxers, Mike's claim of being some bad ass barroom brawler didn't help either

They knew him...and he couldn't hide behind his IP. He was exactly what they said he was...KOO Koo and delusional.

Shit GuyB might be the same way...but we don't want to know that! He's smart and doesn't lay down right and wrong on posters or try "too" hard to control all content.

Or that the GBI was helping him find out stuff on people. Or that his grandfather wrote a passage in the bible...or that he was related to some blue bloods...or that....

I think there was a Murph, a Matt, and a STFU among others.

The deal where he later stole Tim Egger's tribute sticker to a lost buddy off his van says more than you ever need to know about Mike Patrick.

The poor guy wanted so desperately to be the center of attention and just be able to spin his tales to an accepting audience. I told him a couple times just to stop neurotically trying to respond to every flame directed his way, which was usually 10 or more per day. But he would just rant on about his "right" to respond. Just didn't get it.

Kinda like that kid in school that thinks he's the shite and doesn't realize people are laughing at him. Some people just aren't cut out to run a board.

Gibby's pretty good at it and could probably have a nice sideline doing seminars on it.

It was the selling of RC!6's bike while he was in a coma wasn't it? Or Mikee tried to sell it? I think that was about the end

The pulling the sticker off the van and putting it on his hat is classic. Anyone have that picture?

That may have been a precursor, not the actual cause

MikeeeP caused his own meltdown. As has already been said, his ego and serious case of crazy did him in. You can't get riled up about every little stone throw & respond to every challenge & expect to stay in this game long. It also helps if yer not nuttier than a squirrel turd, I suppose. From what I remember, Bauer & TFS had very little to do with the eventual demise of FD. Dave, Joe, Mike, & others just sorta helped guide his path to self-destruction by giving him plenty of rope to choke himself with. The crazy tales (biblical authors, tire creators, etc) were pretty comical, though. It really was train-wreckish to see it all go down. GuyB & I pretty much let him speak his mind at MD, along with RC16, & both proved that they had learned nothing from their FD lessons. I seriously wondered for awhile if there was something in the FL water. If I remember correctly, RC got perma-clicked, & MP finally faded away on his own. Hard to believe it's been so long since all that went down. So many "shades of grey"...//TJ

That was Bauer and that was at Daytona.

WWR was new, Bauer was still involved as well as Bauer was doing a little side work for Yamaha (writing stuff).
MikeeeP confronted Bauer at Daytona, in the pits in front of the Yamaha rig, started yelling and spit in Bauer's face.
Bauer did the professional thing and kept his cool and rode off in the cart with Yamaha team members.
People gave Bauer shit for not getting into a fist fight right then and there with MikeeeP.

I remember when 80+% of the new posts were long winded diatribes by MP going after Bauer claiming he was trying to bring down FD. So, who really was Dade City Idiot ..... ?

Personal Ratings forf meltdowns through the days of Motodrive and FD:

MikeeeP: 9.3
RC16: 9.1
Premix: 8.2
Shyla: 7.4
G-Man: 3.3

I think everyone is too net savvy to break a 9.5 nowadays.

Damn, Mike...that's a cool picture (Avatar). Fiats, Datsun B-210s, & Mustang IIs were abundant back then. I bet I have a pic somewhere that's similar. Life was a lot less complicated back then. I love that nostalgic shit...//TJ

No kidding. Those days were priceless. Every bike I had in my youth I took my Phil Wood hubs until the end.
