Yes, Levo 4 base. I think its 52 lbs, which is still a lot heavier than my 2014 Giant Stance. Maybe the additional weight your friend measured is in the optional larger battery? Overall, the bike feels awesome, especially if you are experienced with dirt bikes, its very maneuverable. Suspension was set up perfect the way John from GBS delivered it to me. I haven't touched it. Very stable and planted too, which inspires confidence. Just sometimes feel the mass/momentum on tight down hills at speed. Its a brake issue (maybe pads), not a bike issue. I have modified the motoer settings to provide minimal power support in eco mode. I was not looking for much help, but for the occasional climb, I can bump up to trail mode and keep my speed up. I was just looking for exercise and fun, and I found it.
I have looked in there and only seeing electric motorcycles
that's what I saw too, but what I see in the wild the vast majority of the "E-Bikes" in use don't have pedals or pretend to be bicycles at all. E-MTB is a tiny sliver of the category. I just got back from 2-weeks in Lake Tahoe and there were dozens of "bike" rental outlets everywhere and not a single E-MTB in their fleets parked out front. E-MTBs are not legal in many trails either and if they are it is only the Class 1 limited to 20 MPH and they can't have a throttle. To the Moto guys here many like new toys like Stark that are designed as Electric powered motorcycles and see it as the future of Moto. If you start a topic thread here on E-MTB I will contribute and some others as well I'm sure as there's lots of guys in the knee & hip replacements threads that have them. Less chance of us getting clicked than if we keep hijacking "normal" moto discussions here?
Locally here in Orange County this has been known for a long time now.
