Sacha was riding a 450 the other day.

I wonder if team Belgium asked him to try it in case Lucas isn't fit enough to make the team?

I’d highly doubt it if they’ve named Van Doninck and Geerts as reserve riders

I just thought it was a bit weird when he said today that about the only riding he's done this week was on a 450, when he's trying to limit bike time to let his injury heal.

Is there any word at all who will be asked for Team USA ? There should be a team announced already.

We’re cooked.

Send Windham, Pastrana and Stew. We won’t win on the track, but we will win the hearts of all in attendance.

IMO a combination of Deegan, J Coop/Tomac and Kitchen/Beaumer could be very competitive, especially if Tomac and J Coop get back up to near normal speed.  I think they could be right there with France, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, etc.  Seems like it is wide open this year...

Has this been confirmed? Seems a strange choice. I think Team GB’s best option would be Mewes MX1, Heyman MX2 & Watson in Open. Having Mustoe as the MX2 rider is odd, I can think of at least 3 riders who should have that ride over him. And Taylor Hammal? This must be a joke right?

So if this is the team 80% of vital will have to make a tough decision...

I’d argue it’s our best team on foreign soil tbh, but I wouldn’t have complained at all if we’d taken Heyman, I’m 50/50 between the 2. Who are the 3 riders who are better than mustoe in your opinion?

They will shit on him either way.  If he loses, he doesn't know how to ride a 450 and we should have sent someone else.  If he does good, he didn't deserve to go.

I expected Askew on the team.

If he does good it will be because of someone else not going…hopefully they will just skip the race so the race day thread here will go back to just bench racing without the trolling attacks and fat lip AI we all have to deal with now…

Yep, Mewes, Heyman & Watson is the way to go surely. With all due respect to Hammel and Mustoe, they would be a dumb choice.

I think that team at their current best form would be possible podium contenders but they’d need a lot of things to go their way to be in contention for top spot.

France, Belgium (depending on if Lucas’s leg issue is resolved) and Spain are going to be tough to beat.  USA I’d rank about equal with Netherlands - Jeffrey better than either US 450 guy, de Wolf about the same as Deegan/Tomac, and Kitchen/Beaumer probably a bit ahead of Karsmaker.

If jcoop gets back up to speed that's a solid team

Charlie Heyman & Billy Askew would’ve been a better choice & possibly Jamie Keith.

Heyman must have an injury surely.

Edit. I’d add Joe Brookes to that list as well.

Deegan will get smoked by Herlings...and Lucas if he's fit and ready.

As for Kitchen...he'll get terrible starts and not be fast enough to beat the top 250 guys.

JCoop is good...but not that good.

USA = Cooked.

If he does go it's only because Jett and Hunter aren't there this year. Which means the USA has a tiny outside chance of winning. Which when you think of the size of the US, the amount of riders it has, and all of the money spent...is pretty bad.

BTW, how much is Donger getting to go? Enough to buy another car...and some botox for his dad?

It doesn’t matter if they have a winning team or not. They should send the best team available, payed or not!!!!

I don’t think Mewse wants to, and I don’t blame him. Hammal is our best pick in MXGP other than him and Watson obviously, Mustoe is more proven on an international scale than Heyman but I can definitely see the Heyman argument and I’m 50/50 on who I’d take out of the 2

Both are inconsistent unfortunately, but on their day they are top level riders. Askew is a hell of a starter which around Ernee would be a huge advantage
