Not a single instruction I can find on the internet. Which way do these SKS seals install?

If those are dust seals, the spring side faces the fork lug.

I'm pretty certain the photo is right but I didnt want to leave this thread dead for future searches. The problem with the SKF is that both sides have a cup configuration. There's nothing super intuitive about the design that makes it seem like "Yeah, this way is right".

There are also springs on both sides lol. Not only that, but the marked side has a beveled edge for easier entry into the race, yet that is not the correct orientation. The way the oil seal is oriented in the photo also displays the part numbers inside the cup which are supposed to be on the dry/non-oiled side (apparently).

My final soap box moment is that these cant be installed with the electrical tape method, so I missed a ride day because I didnt buy a fork seal driver. Okay rant over haha.

My bad. I made this post in a hurry in my hot shed. Those are the oil seals. The dust seals are honestly much more intuitive and "traditionally shaped".

I just installed SKF seals on the same forks last weekend and noticed the same thing. The dust and oil seal almost look the same and yes they have the springs on both. I'm pretty sure you have it on correctly. And a good fork seal driver and also fork seal bullet are nice to have and inexpensive.

I hope you reply quick 😔 now I can’t get the retaining ring to seat. It’s like these seals are bigger. Did this happen to you?

I wish I would have gotten OEM man jeez this is such a pain for no reason.

Oh shit sorry dude didn't check this yesterday. I just started doing forks again and for some reason I've had to beat them down Harder to get the lock ring all the way in it seems like. I don't stop until I hear that click to ensure it's all the way in. Just buy the tusk fork seal driver from Rocky Mountain. If the snap ring clicks you're good.

The SKF's are good seals. Main reason I went with them this time is because they're ten dollars cheaper than OEM Kawi.

FYI, if cost is a mitigating factor you can purchase the OEM Honda seal/wiper kit for about $18 per side at RMATV. That beats $40-$45 per side for SKF all day
