Holy cow! Maybe PRO125 was right about trucking

My sister lives in Maggie Valley, NC.  The last 4 or 5 times she's came home to WV she doesn't drive to Ashville to Bristol and 4 lane.  She hangs a left at the end of town and drives back roads to Kingsport, I believe, She comes out at Bass Pro Shops.  She the drives Rt 19, 2 lane road, all the way to this side of Beckley, WV.  Turns a 5.5 hour trip into about almost 7.  But she likes it.

For about a year now, for reasons I'll share with you guys sometime, I have to travel to Morgantown, WV multiple times a week.  The shit I see on I-79 and the flip flop drivers are crazy.  I'm so tired of every time a catch up with a truck they look left in their mirror and turn their damn wheel with their head and run me off the road.  Its happened 100's of times.  Over and over, I don't understand it.

We have had lots of road construction going on for a way to long.  A handful of times I've seen traffic stopped merging into one lane and a Flip Flop truck comes through in closing lane at about 50 mph and merge in at the last second.  I mean they couldn't get stopped if they had to.  The other day an "Ole Noble One" in a flag truck, closes down the passing lane a damn mile before the lanes merge.  Just trucked along at the snail pace with no one in front of him.  The douche bag did a good job of not letting anyone through and people got fed up and merged ( a mile before the lane changed).  This flip flop driver comes barreling over the hill behind him.  I saw it in my mirror.  I chuckled at first, I was like damn he's hauling ass.  Then he got closer and closer.  I still chuckled and said I bet he scares this guy out of the lane.  I really thought that was all he was doing. But no, he didn't slow down a bit.  I was the first car being blocked by the asshole, Ole Nobble One, and had already gotten in the right lane.  ( I was waiting for him to lag a bit and I was going to blast past him in my 5.0).  Lucky for him, I made room for him to get in.  I'm sitting still, totally stopped the flip flopper passed me going about 60 and the Ole nobble one barely got in the lane to avoid getting flattened.  Talk about commitment or stupidity on behalf of the flip flopper.  He couldn't have gotten stopped for nothing.  No regard for life at all, he was going to mow down what ever was in front of him.  It was crazy.

I bet she, and everyone else there is hamstrung by the mess on 40, in the gorge.

About a month ago, I was coming home early one Monday, checked waze showing the traffic through there wasn't bad.

Hadn't been through since helene.

Holy crap !!

I had no idea how bad it was, or how many miles of 40 were completely obliterated.

That's going to take years to rebuild.

And about the time it's finally finished...

ROCKSLIDE !!!

Been trying to get info on the hurricane creek trail. Nobody seems to have an update.

I dunno. I was headed to the local Grainger recently, and when I passed the window manufacturer next to them, they had a sign looking for Class A drivers. $30/hr, home nights, insurance, PTO, vacation...the works. Decent paying jobs are indeed out there....just gotta look.

But after this illegal immigrant invasion, deadly accident, non domiciled driver's, etc... began happening, they've really become a mouthpiece for outing these fly by night co's. and the other's like, super ego, werner, swift, prime, and others that have ruined the industry.

Quite a few on X as well.

These jobs hv a day of physical test with a heart monitor on.i,ve seen a lot of marines right out of the core not pass the test.   Plus machines that step you in & test every joint with a computer print off. If you test below there cut off , your told to leave.  140 nfl players got injured at 1 Sysco warehouse in 10 yrs.  Then they say we could only verify 4 1/2 yrs exp , they want 5. Too pay you 24 instead of 30 an hr. Even though you hv 39 yrs exp.  Need hz, twic card only to find out the home depot position was filled but we hv this intermodal position available.  4 yrs ago a pu rear ended  you at a stop light , sorry your a unsafe driver , bye.  No touch freight jobs , don’t be shocked when your hand unloading 4 44k lb trailers a week.

I took the route that takes you through Erwin, TN about 2 weeks after the flood.  Holy shit that place got decimated.  I'm not sure what 40 is like now.  I'm thinking once her beagle and dachshund get high from second hand smoke they don't like to drive more than 50mph is my guess.  Either that or she is afraid of ICE and hits the back roads.  Never mind that she is a retired Airforce Officer of Italian decent.  Its just the way of the world.  You gotta look out.  My sister has become an odd bird media victim.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Oh that's wonderful, fabulous.
