Deegan came out of a weak 250 class that is the result of a failing amateur feeder program. Look at the current class of 250 guys "the class is drunk" "whose gonna take control" are some of the common media sayings - since Deegan left nobody has stepped up to be the guy, they have all messed up, and out of that chaos Deegan seemed like something to compare to Jett but it was never going to be the case when he went head to head. These current 250 kids dont have it, I can only look at the amateur scene as a source of that. Phil and Zacho are kicking these kids asses, Zacho fair enough he is a former champ but Phil is beating them too. Something is going wrong with the development of US talent and the Euro Wave is about to crest over the horizon where in the next 5 to 8 years more and more Euro kids will come over who are better prepared and will take to SX quickly whilst having a solid base of grit, fitness and bike skill that for some reason seems to be missing in US amateur scene and its the reason the pro 250 class is a bunch of pussies who Deegan could dog walk up and down the pro circuit till he left.
