I had family that owned 2 trucking companies that ran from 76 until they sold everything in 16 or 17. Pro isn't telling tall tales. Well maybe a lil exaggeration lol. Trucking industry has been fucked since clinton. Illegals in flip flops all over cant speak a word of english and now they just put their phones up and point.
Indians, eastern euros, arabs and Mexicans will open a company run their illegal shit ass drivers for pennies on the dollar. Not pay taxes or the drivers or their creditors. Close down after 5-7 years and open back up under a new name with a,new family memeber owning it and do it all over again.
Indians love this scheme for dunking donuts 711 and gas station.

Are busted up retired old guys who dont have a pallet jack , wont use the lift gate , thier backs fused together etc. We have to do it all while they bark off orders how and where they want it positioned lol
We had a fella deliver us some materials at work, he hopped out of his cab in flip flops and shorts. He was Jamaican or some kind of islander, it was February, in Montana. He stayed a couple hours as it was snowing and he thought it would let up, well like it tends to it got worse. Asked him if he had any chains and he didn’t know what I was talking about. These trucking companies are playing with peoples lives out here hiring these guys and sending them to places they have no business being in the winter.
Living near I-40 in east Tennessee, you quickly realize that you have to keep a 360° circle of awareness at all times, when out on the freeway.
Trucks coming down off of the plateau routinely are doing 80-90mph.
Not a week goes by where I-40 around Kingston isn't shut down a couple of times because of speed differences.
You'd better be able to get up to well above the posted 70mph, even in the right lane.
And there's a long stretch coming into Knoxville, and out to the 40-81 split where they're not allowed in the left lane.
That's a joke.
They blow through town in both directions, left lane, tailgating anyone not doing open road hwy speeds.
I-75, and 24 in Chattanooga are well known death alleys.
We both travel between Kingston and Linville N.Carolina most every week.
Rarely do either of us make that round trip without seeing some kind of 18wheeler related bullshit along the way. Speeding, tailgating, weaving traffic, and the worst... pulling out into the left lane on an uphill trying to pass another truck. Then sitting next to them for miles.
Truckers used to have a reputation for good driving out on the open road.
Those days are long gone.
It's why all three of our vehicles have front, and rear, dash cams.

I had a near death incident on the Interstate a year ago. Pulled out to pass a low boy type trailer and as I was passing the trailer came unhooked from the cab towing it and took off down the road. This all happened 5 seconds after I pulled out. If I hadn't gone to pass the cab/trailer I would have been killed by the runaway trailer. Very scary to even think about the consequences of this sort of shit. Reagan should never have deregulated the trucking industry.

Like most industries in this country, there was/is a race to the bottom when it comes to pay and benefits. Strip those down to bare minimums and you get bare minimum drivers. Being a professional driver was a prestigious job for a long time. Drivers were respected and they respected the serious nature of the job.
Now it's just an industry full of people lacking the skills or temperament to go out and get a better paying job. I have close to half a million miles under my Class A, most of those during the 2010-2013 range and it was an absolute shit show on the highways then. The biggest offenders back then were the russian outfits out of Illinois. Open trucks, very questionable maintenance, and drivers still running multiple loose leaf log books.
All that said, there are many days where I dream of being back on the road, just would never do it full time again, or if I was dependent on that paycheck to survive.
Bonehead truckers is a, mostly humorous look, at the trucking industry.
But after this illegal immigrant invasion, deadly accident, non domiciled driver's, etc... began happening, they've really become a mouthpiece for outing these fly by night co's. and the other's like, super ego, werner, swift, prime, and others that have ruined the industry.

He asked about exp , I said I drove in 1970 @ 4 yrs old by 9 I drove daily working for dairy farmers. Biggest pipeline co in America, I was trained by a captain of the state police & in charge of the world’s strongest horizontal drill used to pull the biggest pipelines in the world. I think I got .10 extra. Lol That was the 1st of 13 Chicago EU co.s .1st day A beautiful Lithuanian invited me into there break room for coffee. The table is 15 ft long & 18 in thick the chairs hv 5+ ft tall backs. She is telling me Russia hacked them & wnted 25 mil for ransom . B4 that I noticed all there cars r 200-700 k . I knew more than trucking was going on & I would deal with it when it happened. My main focus was to mentally get ready to run 22-60 hrs straight driving junk . Put a few months in then leave. I wanted to race MX & this is the only way it’s happening. This was supposed to happen when I turned 40 but the economy crashed.

I was in Super ego,s office in Dec 2021 . I had a very heavy feeling of evil . Now I never felt that in weekly meetings with the mob . I had to pay them every week at the pipeline job. The president of Serbia owns super ego , 1 of the biggest co.s in America. I worked for there outlaw sister co old Empire in Dec 21. The craziest of the 13 but fun , we had so many big laughs. The Chicago # kicks ya to Serbia like all the EU co.s . B4 you run out of 14 hrs call & get 1 or 2 extra 14 shifts . All aspects of the co r ran from Serbia like all eu co.s. Technology wise there light yrs ahead of America. Of anything you can think of. No one can figure out how they can use a 2nd fuel card for Sundays only & there is no record of a fuel purchase. I asked the managers of truck stops & they say no fuel purchase recorded . No hr like an American co at all. I show up with a high enthusiasm & like I,m happy to be here, etc. every co has hotter than super models & Very interesting. Even the women drive expensive Euro cars usually. 100% apply themselves to learn there position & English. I say I like your slight accent even though it’s very thick . There extremely greatful & happy to here that. And say I work very hard to learn this languages of English. Lol They always call me , oh Mr Anthony . So much so that I nicknamed myself Oma. Lol if you can run crazy hrs, be respectful & not be a dick because u can’t handle the high stress of the NE. You get along better than any American co. Unfortunately at the very top the owners tell them to clip our checks & rip us off. I,ve been in aprox 50 shops in Chicago. They hv eu techno blasting or eu language talk radio . Try explaining Trk & trl issues to a young kid that don’t speak English. Lol. It’s like entering the weirdest movie u never saw . While running 22-42 hr days . I had to learn some of there languages . It’s like 1930,s America no job anywhere. They apply themselves way more. They run 90% of American trucking . Brokers tell me they would rather deal with them because they get extra shifts , trucks r faster , load will get delivered. And for cheaper because there work force lives in eu. Meanwhile billions of dollars of freight is stolen every yr.
Boys, my mom went to driving in 1968. She'd pull up to the school and grab me or one of my brothers and we'd be gone for a week or two. That was back when the school figured the more of the world you saw and experienced it was better than holding down a desk...different times.
She was the best driver I ever saw. Her handle was Cherokee Lady and I wouldn't be exaggerating to say she was a legend in her day. Don't get me wrong...she was crazy as a bed bug but she could fucking drive.

We get multiple calls a week to help a flip flopper with a problem like a brake can on a trailer or an air leak. They request a service call until we tell them it's a $175 call out and a minimum of 2 hour @ $200/hour. "why so much it only take you one hour." Well listen here fucker. Go buy your dumbass a nice service truck, stock that fucker with parts and tools, and have a go at it. You'll quickly see how "easy" and "quick" everything can be. Oh, and don't forget about insurance. I've got a shop and yard full of shit to work on. I don't have to come help you. The other good one is they'll do about anything to not pay the bill. If you make them prepay for the call out fee and two hour minimum then you won't get the job, which is fine, it's nice when the jackasses weed themselves out for me.
Depending on the customer, or how we came to meet, I can either finance the entire job, getting paid for the materials upon delivery of the cabinets/product.

Last week I was asked to give a price on replacing old cabinets at a doctor's office. 30yrs old melamine cabinets, literally falling apart. Didn't want that type of work, as it's more trouble than it's worth.
Explained what I could build, showed photos of my work, etc...
Came back with a figure Monday.
Materials, build time, demo, haul away and install.
The doctor came back with his figure.
Close to 40% under my figure.
