I’ve got one dog that doesn’t bark. That dog is not Mardi. Squirrel, she’s barking. Birds, she’s barking. Random truck driving down 281, she’s barking. I’m sitting in my recliner, she’s barking. Catahoula Character!

Went to the Doctor this morning. Safety wired the gate. Kennel is in the middle of the kitchen, nothing close, two steps up from the rest of the house.

Four hours. The kennel was off the two steps down and now standing on end. She had forced the side door open. ……and proceeded to trash my house. Inner tube package shredded. Bag over my CR250 engine, shredded. Two of my tshirts, chest bitten out. Took the freshly cerakoted brake calipers out of the box and dropped them on the floor.

She made it clear to me today, it’s personal, game on. 😎😡🤣🤣🤣

You saw to pic right? The dog is supposed to be inside the crate. But in all fairness, she is very smart, very fast, very ADD (everyone understands that explination). Not a dog for the weak minded owner, that's for sure.

Thanks for the info. Honestly at my age , I’m not up for that.

Truth be told, Blue Healers while they can make great pets, they are working dogs and very few households should consider them for pets. Very high energy dogs! We did not pick this one, it picked us. It was hanging around the front gate (we live on a fast moving rural street) The kids brought it in so it wouldn't get run over. After a few days of posts on multiple boards that we have this dog with no response, a little bit of Perry Mason work and come to find out someone dumped a load of pups in the neighborhood. My wife fell in love with this little dog who BTW is funnier than shit. One of her favorite past time is dropping the ball from top of the hill, letting it get a head start then running like a maniac to go get it. Comes back up the hill and does the same thing for 2 hours. She bounces like she's on springs. One minute she's on the ground, the next she's on top of a 4ft wall. She's part Jilly goat. Anyway, she's a great dog and loves everything about life!

They’re highly active, strong willed, stubborn, and ARE NOT for the uninitiated. They’re bred to herd cattle. They will herd you, the wife, but especially kids if they’re not entertained.

Working dogs can make great pets, but you’ve got to give them a job. Big balls of hyperactive aggressive energy. It’s a 40 pound dog, that’s bred to bite 1200 pound cows! Fearless to the point of stupidity.

We've modified our workout room to give him a huge padded dog bed, and rubber floor mats. He has a difficult time on hardwood floors, and we can't afford to have him slipping.

We also keep the A/C cranked for his spoiled ass. 🙂

So now when he's in there, he's found a very handsome friend to look at.

It’s about 103 in central cal right now.

These two are not having any thoughts of chasing frisbees right now.

One turned ten today, one is the dog I swore we would not get after losing Mattie to cancer.

She is a gift.

When my kids were little I had an Australian cattle dog. She herded very gently, totally opposite of the healer who would just as soon hang off a cows face as eat.

We had a birthday party for one of the kids, 3 or 4 years old, and there were about 10 kids in the backyard playing games. I went in to help the moms with the food I was about to grill, and by the time I got back out, 2-3 minutes maybe, Roo had all the kids in the corner of the yard all crowded together.

They didn't even realize they were being herded. 🤣

Milo goin’ for a hike at about 9,000 feet near Virginia Lakes. After a few miles…he’d had enough…he’d had a long day already up near Lassen early in the morn 🤣
