Looks like a EXC/XC-W with linkage...PDS gone?
The rumor is pds is going away. Not sure if it is truly to commonize production or if they feel the linkage is better or if it is just one less platform to develop.
It’s going away

I'm obviously biased but I like the look of my PDS 2016 350XCFW better.
This has been one of my best bikes over a 60 yr riding timeframe. 180 hrs on the original engine components.
interested on how the seat come on and off. don't see a obvious bolt. maybe a beta style button?
Will be curious if they launch the EXC/XCW updates for 28 or 29? Past precedent has been the SXF/XCF gets the update first and XCW gets them the following year, but we shall see!

Those 2 points, is what it IS about.
The Numbers Men, are doing their job.
There'll be a fair few people disappointed by the death of PDS, but, the choice will be gone, if everything we are reading now Is true. .
It will be interesting to see if another manufacturer chooses to take it up, for its 'USP'. I very much doubt it will happen.
I so liked PDS, that I converted my Old Beastie to it, years ago, but, with an Ohlins TTX shock. Works wonderfully for me, but I'm Not Hammering Stadium Whoops, or doing the Triples and Quads 😨 . It's great at my pace on an MX track, and perfect in the bush / in the Nastiness of my Mountains.
The PDS system was fairly good when dialed in, but it definitely took some adjustment from the rider. As delivered, on the 2006 450xc I had, it was kinda scary. I rode a couple of later 500EXCs that were mostly stock, they were ok at a trail riding pace but not good as a race bike, at least where I ride.
I liked the concept, but feel like it never got the attention it deserved from KTM. The simplicity and ease of service was great.
