I purchased this bike in titusville fl. In march 2014. It was listed on craigslist as a suzuki dirtbile t100. 300.00 obo so i call and ask about it. I was told. The last time it was started was about 3. Months ago, it was yellow., and his dad had bought it new for him and his brothers, so i jump in. Suburban to go see it. I get there its o. His carport with about 5. Blankets covering it. So i remove blankets and see its a tm100. Then i see a huge radial head, then i see the cylinder with the square port reed valve that it should not have, the bike looks ragged . But 300.00. I know im stuffing it in that suburban. Then. The seller Name. Chris is all i can remember . says look that things been sitting here since 1979. If you buy it today i will sell it to you for 150.00. And i will help you load it. .well i waited a minute too not look too excited and aid yea i guess i can do that. As im pushing it toward the truck. I notice the down pipe is not stock and silencer looks like briggs and straton mower. So as i grab the swing arm area to lift i also notice wow profab aluminum. Then i see the ECW scribed in the down pipe. Tool marked. And i am aware its a ec birt works bike . Then i get it home call my brother tell him about it ,we take the head off to reveal the ec. Markings on inside of head . And i take loads of pics. I know what the bike is to a point , i have had a lot of old suzuki tms and early rms and silver yzs in the past. So i. Store it for about 4. Months . Then my already failing printing co needs more money so it goes on ebay and a week later im counting 1600.00. That the new owner brings me. I should have never, but money was made. Any way i have a lot of pics of it from the brief time i owned it and would like to share some of them. Also i do have a book with ec birts writing and specs and diagrams on porting cylinders with his name and adress on front cover. It kinda cool. But i would sell it . If a good offer was made. Some guy name jeff never got his last name, but he lives somewhere south of me abou 2-3. Hrs. And i live in orlando fl. Ended up with that bike. He also said he collected old maicos and was restoring and puuting in his museum the tm. Im going to try to put up pics now.

Randy Hawkins started out racing mx (NMA-Dixie Region) on 80's. EC built him a stealthy mod bike that looked basically stock---but those signature 'fat reeds' were a give-away. The P-crew, however, had every trick bit EC could throw at 'em. I believe Scooter Bates (or Stafford----one of the Louisiana "Scooters") rode an EC bike, as well.
The 'ECW' stood for EC & Walker, when he was partners with a guy named Walker who was wealthy off his drywall company. This would've been 73 or 74, the shop was in Boynton Beach FL. Partnership didn't last long and EC took off for TN.
When he moved to FL from LA, some of his crew moved too. Larry Watkins was 'his' rider, but Walker had a son and foster son who both rode out of the shop too. A friend of mine was his pipe builder and for a while I pounded the cones round after the seams were welded. Then for a bit I did the porting, as his LA guy went back to Cal. I guess because I could do a bit of 'rithmetic and follow instructions.
Unfortunately/fortunately Florida didn't agree with me (too flat, I don't fish, and all the bars were discos with dress codes then) and I went back to Cal after about 6 months.
EC anecdote: He told me his riders hated when he pulled the dents out of pipes. When they were squashed like that, they actually made less power but were pipier. So they felt 'faster'.
My pipe builder buddy made it to the 'crash and burn' section of one of the mags. Early 70's and a very wet winter for Saddleback. He's sitting on his bike, hands on his hips, stuck axle deep in the mud, him and the bike completely covered in mud. Wish I could find that pic again.
