Checking one off of our list tomorrow. Home for the next ten days. We talked (dreamed) about "going on a safari" for years but could never realistically pull it off while raising kids and running the business. Long story short. We went to travel show for something to do a few months ago and came across the safari booth with pictures of elephants and lions, giraffes etc. and said fuck it lets just do it, we aint getting any younger. So we're out of here tomorrow. If I get eaten it was fun bs'ing with ya'lls ✌️. I'm the oldest slowest fattest one of the group so chances are if someone becomes a happy meal for a lion, it'll be me 🤪 See ya in a couple weeks !

Hell yeah !!! Have fun.
We spent most of the month of June in the eastern Mediterranean.
Now we're pondering, what's next ??
I'm wanting to go coast to coast, via the Trans America trail.
She's wanting another overseas trip.
At some point we're going to have to arm wrestle for it. Then we'll grab our passports and head overseas. 😉
😆😂 That sounds about right. The T.A.T. is on our list too. Mine informed me recently that she wants to bounce around the country aimlessly on street bikes. Like Then came Bronson or Easy Rider. We don't even own street bikes. (Her XT250 and my EXCF500 aint gonna cut it). Our next "Biggie" in the works is traveling around the country next summer in the camper with dual sports in tow. I'm 67, the kids are fairing pretty well, and my expiration date is getting closer every day. If we time it right we'll die with about $27.50 in the bank account, sorry kids. 🤣
Enjoy Sum..👍🏻😎

I’m pretty set on that bucket list deal! Might need some new ideas.
My middle Son started jumping out of airplanes about 2 years ago. Apparently, you start out doing tandems with a trainer and then after so many jumps you get certified to jump solo.
Don’t kick the bucket ? 😛
I’m 57, 5’9”, 192 pounds, 11.5% body fat. Resting heart rate is 48. Blood pressure stays about 126 over 84.
Someday the mountain might get me……….
67, 5’8” or 5’9” depending on wich leg I’m standing on, 205 lbs, 130 ish over 80ish. Everyday here is a surprise. I don’t even buy green bananas 😛😂
and yes cowboy, someday the mountain will get ya, sooner or later. Fuck off a little everyday cause you never know… 😎
We did it differently.
First 3-4 were static line (like paratroopers, the chute is deployed for you). Simulated cord pull.
Once they were comfortable that you weren't going to skitz out, you would start doing "Hop-n-Pops". Get out, get stable, pull the rip cord.
Finally, start some free falls.
It's definitely a rush.
Pit Row
Same here.
A handful of static line's from a 182, as your jump master saw you could keep a hard, stable arch, cleared for short free falls, leading up to a few lengthy two ways, to full on 12,000' jumps from the Otter.
1,700+ before I called it quits.
Fellow skydivers.
Some of the best people I've ever met.
Spaceland parachute center.
League city Texas.
Entire area is a subdivision now.
Sad. So many good times in that column of air over those cookie cutter boxes.
C-130 Rollin’ down the strip……..
Class zero-niner gonna take a little trip…
22 hours, and 10,331 miles later…
Wow!
I didn't last near that long. Sub 25.
My jump buddy, and one of my best friends had a close one. Ended up dislocating his shoulder as he rolled over during deployment and the pilot chute went under his arm.
We decided that we'd done enough, and that was it.
After around 100 jumps, I decided to be a jump master for students.
Took 3 up in a 182, first kid gets out on the strut, goes off completely backwards, head down.
Static line pulls his deployment bag up from between his legs, he flips back under a full canopy.
Scared the living shit out of me.
Debriefed him back on the ground.
He had no clue that any of that happened.
That was the end of my desire to be a jump master.
I'd seen enough.
Today's tandem, and AFF course, is a much better way to introduce people to freefall skydiving.
One day there was a middle aged Asian guy at the place going through training for his first jump. The place we went to charged a hundred bucks or something for training and 3 jumps.
We figured that this was a gift to the guy because he didn't look like he wanted to be there.
On his first jump, Sarge, our jump master had to pry him off the strut, and he immediately assumed the fetal position. He held that all the way to impact. We were on the ground watching. He got up, blew his cape wells, and walked towards the parking lot as he fumbled with the harness.
Guess once was enough. 🤣
I see what you did there.
I might be crazy, but I aint dumb. 😁
Skydiving probably would be on my list if it wasn’t for my step brother Kevin. He was heavily into it until a freak accident. Short version is the guy next to him somehow pulled Kevin’s reserve chute when jumped. Kevin got yanked out of the plane, got clobbered and knocked out by tail. He said he came to, went to pull his main chute but his arms didn’t work. So he straight legged it into the ground at what ever speed that was. He earned a permanent limp and equilibrium damage. Unless the planes going down I’m out.
Seeing lions in the wild ? Checked that one off last night 😎
Fucking off in Europe for a year or two...spend a good part of that around Lyon learning how to prepare food their way...culinary arts & all that.
Run some laps around a few race courses over there...ya know...
The usual.
