People testified” isn’t the same thing as “everything they believed was correct.” Lots of sincere people have testified before Congress throughout history and still been wrong. The question isn’t whether Disney and Warner believed there were communists—it’s whether the Red Scare and McCarthy’s methods were justified. History says they weren’t.

The history books are largely written by academics, and how do academics lean? (I'll bet some people here can guess) So their views will come through in their writings. How often are we taught about the close relationship between Hitler and Hollywood? So because it's not taught, it didn't happen?

I don’t know what you were taught , I never heard of Hollywood and Hitler relationship. The idea that you believe people that have an education is a problem is complete non sense. Also history is written by the documentation kept. There plenty of written, televised documentation that shows all of it, it wasn’t that long ago.
So you’re making an argument the McCarthy Red Scare didn’t happen because some academics wrote the history screwed to how they want people to interpret it.
