MXGP Rumours/Silly season

7/3/2026 2:10pm

Have to address the elephant in the room but who will take Benestandts spot. I can only guess but Vlaanderan or Seewer.

Seewer will be at Foxhill on a Van Venroy KTM.

And Vlaanderen probably won' stay with Ducati next year, that's the word on the street.

Renaux to De Carli will be interesting, is that heel injury still affecting him? What happened with him going to Ducati, I thought he was keen on going there before Yamaha said no.

Farres would be a great pick if he doesn’t sign with triumph.

A lot more opportunities for 2027 than he had last year.

The Ducati scooter seems to be as bad as last year, even with team Vosters (instead of Maddii)...

Gotcha. Any smart man would go with De Carli over Ducati, I even saw a interview with Herlings where he put De Carli at the top of the KTM group which I found interesting as he never rode for De Carli, but he did say the factory team has gotten rid of a lot of the key guys that were there for awhile.

According to French media DailyMotocross and Motoverte, they both have Febvre tied to Ducati on a two year deal.

Rumor of Hutten possibly running the MX2 team for Triumph with the current team running the MXGP team.

Farres possibly moving up to MXGP next to Haarup or possibly heading back to the US.

Febvre must be getting a fat check to go over to Ducati if that’s true. He seems to mesh well with the team personnel over at KRT, I thought he’d end his career with them.

Obviously, but he also turned 34 years old this year. So signing another big fat contract isn't a bad descision in this stage of his career. The question is, who will make the step to KRT? Jonass is doing quite well, but to be a race winner is another step and he isn't the youngest either. So Farres definitely could be an option I would look at if I was them

Sounds like Gasjer wants out of Yamaha so I’d guess KRT would be the best for him…

If I had to guess, he'll be staying put.

Fevbre is going Ducati and they haven't signed Jonass yet from what I know of.

Do KTM have room?

If Gajser does get out of his Yamaha deal, DeCarli needs to sign him since the Coenens will be leaving. I’d rather have Gasjer over Reneux

There is no way anyone takes Renaux over Gajser, unless its a financial decision.

Amazing how many teams appear to be clueless these days.

DeCarli and Renaux is a done deal.

Yamaha will never ever let Tim go. They should leave the Rinaldi setup and create an inhouse structure with people who want to create engines for the riders and not for the pride of themselves. The bikes of their MX2 team is the prime example.

KRT went big on De Wolf. Like best payed rider in paddock big.

Husky (KTM) used their right of first refusal to match the KRT offer and apparently he stays put at Husky.

Or maybe it's because Renaux is out of contract and Gajser isn't?

Yeah, i get that , to get Gajser you have to buy him out of one contract and give him another.

There is deffo  going to be a hole in KTM in MXGP, but thats far easier to fill than a seat in the US, where there isnt anyone now worth it.

AP is done and looking for ride to take him to retirement ,good but not team leader good, Tomac is close to retirement too , Webb is done, Mookie wants SX only, RJ is looking for anything and will end up at Ducati, Barcia is at the end of his career too and apart from Deegan, there is nobody in 250 good enough to pull through, save for maybe Shimoda.

I know we have smaller fields here, but there are more riders than seats in MXGP now, which is why its so close.

What will Yamaha then be looking for as MX2 team?

I hear this as well and it’s not only Hutten but also Kemea that might lose their factory status. Apparently Yamaha will operate from a structure in Italy and maybe Star Racing is getting directly involved as well.

good to hear as a Belgium guy !
