Anyone here ever experienced “benign paroxysmal positional vertigo”? Worst case of the spins I’ve ever had. It was like I got brown liquor drunk and smoked a joint. My vision was cartwheeling counterclockwise, dizzy as all hell, hot/sweaty, then threw up. Happened a few times between 1-5 am any time I’d lay down on bed or couch. Doc at urgent care recommended calling the pcp and ask them to send me to someone who can do the Epely maneuver.
I've had that. It sucks. My doctor showed me how to do the Epley maneuver. It's pretty easy.
I thought I had it but it turns out I don't. It's something else. Started getting the "spins" about 5 years ago. Still there. Doctors don't seem to know what it is or even give a shit.
Yep, I had it for a while when I was in my 20s. I jumped out of bed one morning and fell over like I was wasted drunk. Had to get on my knees to stabilize for a minute or two. I had a few episodes like that for several months, always in the morning, and usually after sleeping on one particular side. It went away after a while.
The doc told me it was often caused by tiny broken fragments of the bones in your middle ear. They'll put you in a centrifuge and wedge the chips into the tissues that way if you want. I said no to that.
Ive had it. Sure stumped the emergency room. My chiropractor diagnosed me after doing some tests watching my eyes.

Had it after the TBI and DR didn't do anything about it and after getting a hearing test the lady told us to check on youtube for the treatment and it cured it after doing it 2 times.
I thought I maybe had it a few years ago, I was just getting mild persistent dizziness, which dont fit the symptoms for BPPV. Doctors couldn't figure it out, did the Epley, sent me home and told me to do neck exercises. It kind of went away, thinking back now I think it was just anxiety
So ya I had a very rapid ,severe on set while at work sitting in the wheelhouse chair looking outside. So much so I got a ambulance from work ,then ended up going home.
My cause was I had a 6 week off period at home prior to this episode and was working and had a steel pipe fall and give my head a bonk. No bump or blood.
And due to the fact I can grow hair on my head like weeds and only afford 4 hair cuts a yr .I shake my hair in the shower like a dog. This repeated action along with the bonk displaced the crystals in my inner ear which is what causes vertigo.
After a few hrs I was all good .Bit I still do get symptoms every now and then.
