The top swingarm chain slider on the newer 25 and 26 SXF is a different part number and slightly thinner than the 23 and 24. I've got a 26 350SXF and some leftover sliders from 23. Has anyone run the older slider on the newer bike by adding a little chain slack? The older ones needed 70 mm according to MXA and I've heard the new slider was made thinner to allow less slack. Right now I'm running 67 mm with the new slider. Thanks.
i was under the impression the new slider was beefed up to wear better as the 23-24 wore out faster due to the new chain chain/ front sprocket/ swingarm angle…? I did not think the recommended chain slack had changed?
The new slider may wear a little better but it's definitely thinner along the top where the long ridge is for the chain rollers. The manual still says 58 to 61 mm which is way out of date since 2022. I've seen people saying 65 was the minimum now. Mine was at 70 from the shop but that caused the chain to grab the frame when pulling the bike backwards and leaning during loading. So I went to 67 and it seems happy there. Just wondering if anyone has successfully used the 23 slider on the new bike, maybe at 70mm.
69mm, no issues
On my 25 FC350 I took the shock off and cycled the swingarm through the stroke to test chain slack. Anything less than 69mm binds. Anything more than 70mm gets noisy when riding. So I keep it 69-70mm.

I made this out of a scrap piece of aluminum. Adjustable with the bolt.
Does everyone agree that this is a good method to measure?
It’s frustrating how fast these chain sliders wear. I keep my at 67 or a little looser. Just 3D printed a couple. One for home, and one for the track tool bag.
