Isn't it funny how this thread has already gone full horseshoe? Now you're getting downvoted for paying under $3/gallon.

Pretty cool, huh ???

Just posting aggravates the lifeless little front wipers.

Been out of the country for most of June.

Last fill up at that same Shell station before we left, I paid $4.29 per.

Pretty nice drop.

^^^

Seems like the google maps gas tracker is a bit behind the actual price at the pumps. Around here anyway.

While not always feasible while on a road trip, getting away from the interstate usually finds lower prices.

And the two Shell stations I frequent, both have hot lunch counters, and a shit ton of lottery tickets, and vape bullshit, clogging the checkout area.

That's their profit margin, so their gas is usually cheaper by .20-30 per.

This morning……$5.03 at the Arco Am/Pm bout 2 miles from my house.  That’s the lowest I’ve seen in months around my place.  NW Washington ….. Then as I was driving to work, I hear on the news that Washington State actually added a Penny to their gas tax…… Unbelievable how badly this state is run…..

Later in the day, I saw $4.83 (regular)at another ARCO AM/PM that I’ve posted about in this thread several times.

Filled up the truck gas tank at $3.26 a gallon.

The shithole I live near still has fuel for $4.29, but I just paid $3.58 for fuel in the outer banks of Chicago on a July 4th weekend. I emailed the city about additional fuel taxes they are adding, surprise surprise, no responses.

A Shell station that I drive by everyday and track their price is now under $5.00. Not much at $4.99 but last week it was right around $5.60. Yesterday I went to my Safeway Grocers Station where the wife and I get 95% of our gas. I paid $4.83. Not great , but better.

Serious question... What's the word on the street that all gasoline is being cut with ethanol to reduce the cost at the pump and they just aren't saying anything about it? I don't keep up on such things so just wondering.

There's been a couple of articles out there recently about, buc-ess, and other discount brands having far more than the 10% allowed for ethanol.

They've been disproven.

States, at least here anyway, routinely test gasoline for ethanol percentage, and any contamination.

Just one more reason to stick with the top brands of fuel.

Shell, ExxonMobil, Chevron, and BP.

There's lots of YouTube content out there about issues trucker's, and motorists have had with, pilot, love's travel centers, amoco, citgo, and just about every other discount gasoline brand.

They get the fuel from the same processing facilities so its all the same only slight difference might be from one processing run too the next so it might be a little different.

A lot of it is your paying for the fuel companies name.

Pilot is part of a big discount for truckers using things lite TFS that we used so pump price is higher but what we actually pay is usually somewhere between .25 - .75 cents lower.

I'm on my phone,  but didn't they quietly approve 15% ethanol gas this spring?.

“Up to 15%” ethanol has been in your gas for years.

Read the data on gas…it’s eye opening.

Now you have me confused.

I've always thought gas, unless otherwise stated at the pump as Non- Ethanol, was E10 and that this has been the case since around 2008. There is always a sticker at the pump that says it is E10.

This spring I pulled up to the pump at a new Sinclair gas station and I saw an E15 sticker, which got me doing internet research. I thought what I read at the time made it sound like they upped the ethanol content from E10 to E15. But the research I'm doing now makes it sound like E15 has been around but only during the winter because it evaporates faster.

I know about E85 and its use in Flex fuel vehicles but E15? I didnt know that existed till I saw that sticker this spring at the Sinclair and I have not seen that sticker at any other gas station I have been to, granted i normally use a Paciic Pride cardlock when I fill up.

Depends on the state or region.

Gas makers have been using “may contain up to 15% Ethanol” out here for years…as seen in gas pumps.

Pumps around here always state, up to 10%.

Shit wreaks slow, steady havoc on fuel injectors.

And all of your chainsaws, leaf blowers, and other premix engines.

Gas around here is slowly dropping about a dime a gallon every Tuesday, when the prices usually change.

Just traveled 3700 miles through 5 states and two canadian provinces.   Idaho and Montana had some cheap gas.  Usually in the $3.80-4.10 range.  Started in California around $4.40.  Oregon was cheaper around $4.10, Washington was the most expensive gas on the trip. Almost entirely over $5.00. Canada ranged from $1.68-$1.80.  Which with the exchange rate comes out to $4.45-4.80 gallon.

One thing I did notice.  In Canada gas is pretty much the same price everywhere in proximity.  In the USA one side of town or one station will be as much as $0.30-$0.65 difference from another one in the same proximity.   That and shell and chevron are the same price in Canada.  In the USA they are way more expensive.  That and Canadian fuel got better gas mileage, but they was probably in part to their slow ass speed limits.  Lol

In Washington, did you go up the I-5 corridor or through Eastern Washington?

Both.  Drove through the south east corner up and then back home on the i5.  It was pretty expensive everywhere.  I think we're got gas at some Costco on i5 on way back.  Can't remember the exact price.  But it wasn't cheap.
