Interesting thing about a Beta is you never hear any horror stories about them! Stone reliable.

I hope to be able to try a 350 RX soon. Here is my 2025 300 RX.. lots of little things done to it to correct some minor peccadillos.  All the RX 2Ts share the same frame and suspension and one thing I still struggle with is the rear suspension. I fixed the extremely slow rebound issue with a revalve, DLC and low friction seals, but the rear is not plush like my other bikes.  I backed off on the shock preload to help a little.  When riding hard, the shock is fine, but when I slow down and cruise between MX obstacles, which I have to do a lot now at my age, it is stiff at the start of the stroke. I suspect it is the slow rising rate of the linkage's knuckle. I need something that starts softer and then ramps up faster.  I talked to Adrian at Ride Engineering about it, but he said he doesn't sell enough parts for the Beta's to make it worthwhile. They do make a longer pull rod for the Beta's to improve handling on the 4 strokes, but a longer pull rod would have the opposite effect of what I want it to do.

So aftermarket linkage wouldn’t work? Just curious.

There are no complete aftermarket linkages that include the knuckle for the Beta's. There many aftermarket companies that make pull rods for the Beta's though, however, their primary purpose is to lower the seat heat by about an inch, but it also impacts the suspension progression and makes it more linear.. stiffer initially and less progressive at the end of the stroke which is not good for MX. The Beta linkage is already a bit too linear for me. The Ride Engineering pull rod has a reversible bushing that will either lower the rear by 1" for those with short legs or lower it by just ~1/4 inch to improve the handling and cornering of the 4 stroke RX's.  Adrian mentioned that 2 of the 3 Beta factory MX/SX team riders are using their pull rod.  I need a more progressive knuckle and no one makes them for the Beta's.  Merge Racing is another company that makes knuckles.. I have one on my CRF450 and it's great, but they only make them for Honda's and Yamaha's.

Got it, that’s what I was wondering about the PC linkage. Hmm, tricky. Nice bike though 👍

PC doesn't make any suspension parts specifically for the Beta's as far as I know.

Do you run clear vinyl under them to protect the frame? I had a set on my woods bike (CRF450RX) and they rubbed on the frame. Took some work to get that all cleaned up. I'd imagine it's worse with the aluminum frame, but eventually they'll wear through the paint. In hindsight, I should have put some clear vinyl under them to protect against rubbing, especially when mud or sand gets behind them

I just use three layers of clear gorilla tape and keep an eye on wear. Super simple to trim to fit. Since I remove the frame guards after every ride when I clean the bike, I just keep an eye on wear, replace as necessary. One 9 dollar roll lasts a long time.

Finally got some decent seat time this weekend. Saturday was open practice and Sunday was the Pro-Am. It’s manageable power for sure. Has the characteristics of a two-stroke, but I could lug it like a four stroke when I started to get tired. I’m still experimenting with setting, especially the controls, but I’m happy with the bike so far.
