All the info they record will be forever stored in the AI data centers they are building, plus every text email or voice call any thing Alexa hears anything your home tv monitor records, all of it is being stored. It’s crazy but true. Privacy is long gone. Palantir Is the CIAs private company. Of course they say they don’t do that, but of course that’s what they say. Easy to figure out if you look into it.

Pssssst…

Not new.

See “Patriot Act” and various other unbelievable laws passed, mostly since 9/11, that allow this insanity.

Then there’s the ability to track your modern car via its own comm’s systems. And you probably need to look into your modern car’s data collection…and retention…capabilities.

As for the Data Centers? Also, not new. It’s just that now…it’s all about AI.

Remembrance when you were a kid and they told you how “computers are going to make your life better”…?
🤣

Yes I know recording what we do isn’t new unless you count all the new flock cameras that are new. But the ability to store everybody’s info indefinitely is new thanks to huge data centers. One of their functions.

There is pressure in my town to take them down, but only because ICE is apparently using them.

I have a friend who had to get a restraining order against her boyfriend and went to the local police to say he might be in town. They right away said "oh yeah, he's sleeping in his car over at the bus stop right now." They knew exactly where he was, and he doesn't even live around here. I guess you could argue that's a positive use but it's still chilling. We are tracked 24/7 now. He's also not the type of dude to have lots of photos on the Internet or anything. Even my friend was a little freaked out.

Couple of weeks ago our local sheriff's department posted a report,

People living around an elementary school, and an employee of a gas station close by, were reporting a suspicious white sprinter van lurking around.

Sure enough, using surveillance footage, they tracked and recorded the license plate number.

Found them staying at a motel in a neighboring county.

Arrested three illegals. Two were on a "terrorist watchlist".

Certainly is a gray area in our search and seizure laws.

But... I guess it falls back on the old, "if you see something say something" mantra of the post 9-11 era.

Much like DUI checkpoints.

Quasi legal at best.

But getting wastoholics off of the road...

Which county?  Apprehending two people from a terrorist watchlist sounds pretty major and I would have thought it would have made a bit of a news splash. Tried to find the report but couldn’t get anything like that come back.

No surprise to me that no one heard about it. Doesn’t fit the narrative.

I loathe our post 9-11 surveillance state as much as anyone.

But perhaps, in that case, it ensured some little kids made it home safe.

An ounce of prevention you know.

I'm not saying it's fake news.  It just sounds like a story worth reading and I can't find it anywhere.  You'd think that the report posted by the Sheriff's office would still be up somewhere.  These things can certainly happen, just curious about the circumstances and what sort of terroristic threat the two people were posing.

I am not saying it is fake news either. Maybe the reason the media does not report it is because it reveals that there may be problems from our past open border policy.

The AP's "widely reported" shit wouldn't come within 100 miles of the shit going on 'round these parts.

This board doesn't have enough bandwidth for me to list all of it.

If the usual crowd around here doesn't believe me, I couldn't care less.

The only reason I question the authenticity of this is it would absolutely be something this administration would tout as a major win on the war against domestic terrorism, and a vote of confidence for the push to implement more wide-spread usage.

They couldn't stop blowing up drug boats in international waters to show those drug dealers who's the boss, so why would they bury such a dramatic "win" against potential terrorism?

I poked around on this too and wasn't finding anything. Best you're gonna get is "trust me bro".

No. Different school.

Sorry boys, it was a post made by local LEO on a local online community group.

Just like here, there's incessant whining about cameras, etc...

Nice to see everyone here taking such an interest though.

Tons of shit goes on around here that never makes the headlines.

And the system around here likes it that way.

In residency at the knife and gun club ER roughly half the shootings and stabbings I saw never had a word said about them in the local news even if they died. Straight up murders and not a thing said about them all the time. Same thing with rapes, home invasions, car jackings.... half of what did get reported was also untrue. Arrests were easy to look up publicly and would get reported but just the crime taking place didn't register a lot of the time. People have no idea unless they have some connection and reason to know.

I think a more appropriate saying would be "If you don't need privacy when you're doing nothing wrong, then you don't need free speech when you have nothing to say"

Just take a screenshot of it…..

The apprehension of potential child sex predators who are also on a terrorist watch list is a pretty big event. You’re saying that the Sheriff’s Department reported it on some uber secret group message board but not to the public on their own website or media accounts?  Really?

Ok, because I saw where there was a similar incident there with proof.

It’s another scheme that will ultimate end up being used to suck money out of middle class Americans. we hear about the big crimes that flock has prevented but those are just to make it more palatable when you start getting citations in the mail for dumb bullshit. Going 5 over on an empty highway? They know where you live, what you drive, and what you look like. Rolling stops, failure to signal, parking in a loading zone for 45 seconds longer than the sign says—you’ll be getting cited for all of it. It’s like red light cameras for everything.

Rich people don’t care. They’ll either pay it or ignore it and be fine. These homeless creeps that have seemed to come out of the woodwork in every American metro won’t be worth tracking down. So the profits will steer the technology toward the people that will make the most revenue. Normal middle class Americans.

Don’t fall for this bullshit.

Oh you can bet if a guy from one particular race kills a guy from a different particular race it makes the headlines.
