Stark Varg Racing Debut

Meanwhile Jyle Campbell made Stark debut in Australia ProMX (25 min + 1 lap).

He qualified 21st of 40, ranked 12th in Moto1 and 31st after some issues in Moto2.

France MX Elite round 3

Herbreteau had an ok race, bikes issues and 14th in race 1, 10th in race 2, 12th OA. Still good to lap 5-10s from Herlings and be able to race for 30 min.

In MX2 Lopez got 10 and 12 for 11th OA. Pierre Goupillon was a surprise, he got 4th in moto 1 (50 s ahead of Lopes) for what might have been his very first race on the Varg?

EnduroGP round 2

17th for Sans and 27th for Herbreteau, they're improving, bit by bit, but that's gonna be a long year for Herbreteau.

France MX Elite round 4

Yannis Lopez went 13th OA. Holeshot in Moto 1 then faded to 15th, terrible start in Moto 2 then went from 30th back to 13th.

2 rounds left to put it all together.

Hard Enduro World Championship round 2 

9th for Karlsson and 11th for Martyn.

France MX Elite round 5

Yannis Lopez still is the holeshot king.

He had his best round so far with 6th in Moto 1 and 11th in Moto2 for 8th OA.

Herbreteau won't race the last round to focus on EnduroGP, he had an underwhelming race with 16th and 12th for 13th OA. Still not too shabby to lap just 5s slower than Tom Vialle. 

Sounds like racing arenacross in Canada can be quite eventful 

So, it's an American, a Brit, and a Swede, they travel to Austria to see who can finish the hardest enduro race in the world...

EnduroGP round 3

Finland was hard on the Stark boys.

25th for Sans and 34th for Herbreteau.

Tortelli just won the Erzberg rocket ride ahead of his EnduroGP riders Sans and Herbreteau, he's still in terrific shape.

Don't expect 100% Stark podium for Sunday race but that would be great to get at least one of them (Eddie?) to finish!

Tortelli raced 60 hp, don't know about the others. Cooper Abbott clocked 92.5 mph (148.9 km/h).

Erzberg prologue day 2

Most riders improved their rules by a handful of seconds, some exceptions like Verona whose day 1 time remains undefeated.

Seb Tortelli did not ride on day 2, slipped down to 10th. Herbreteau 6th and Sans 7th make it 3 Stark riders in the top 10. 

Karlsson 22, Martyn 23 and Abbott 31st ensure all Stark official riders will start Sunday race from the front row.

Out of 500 starters, 15 finishers, including 3 on electric dirt bikes, not bad

Can't imagine what it's like to race Erzbergrodeo, even less so without a rear brake!

Erzberg highlights vid

Eddie swearing and talking to himself ("calm down Eddie, calm down Eddie"), racing down crazy steep hills without rear brake, and Toby agressive style helping him to artfully ditch the phone in the wilderness probably in the first hour of the race (see at 13'17).

EnduroGP round 4

Really tough for Stark, they ca't seem to replicate in EnduroGP the magic they have in Hard Enduro, 23rd for Sans and DNF for Herbreteau.

France MX Elite round 6

Yannis Lopez ends up 10th in the MX2 championship, that's a decent result considering he was new to the category and to the bike. He had no issues finishing motos of 25+2 (and had 5 holeshots out of 12 starts).

Eddie onboard from Erzberg

I don't know what the factory Stark guys are running but I installed the new traction control on my Stark Gen1.  Ran it in a H/S last weekend and it...worked.  I'll need to do some tuning for my terrain/HP to get it more of my liking but it was nice on grass track at higher HP. I can tell it would be great for moto at higher HP settings.  It will let you play fast and loose with a bigger margin for error. YMMV.

Hard Enduro World Championship round 3

Eddie Karlsson doing alright in America.

7th in the championship is not bad.

A win yesterday night and obviously, Beagle's not doing his job.

Oh yeah, Hicks is a favorite in SX2 France SX tour this year and he had the perfect opening night.

Frustrating to see WSX and Paris Supercross are still clashing this year so he will likely miss the Paris round, losing an opportunity to fight for Prince of Paris and losing precious points in the very short 4 rounds SX tour championship.

France SX tour round 1

In SX2 Hicks went fastest in practice, won his heat and won the main, leading every lap, with fastest lap as well.

Lopez 10th in practice, 3rd in his heat and 6th in the main.

In SX1 things didn't go so well, Zaragoza and Irsuri got 5th and 10th time in practice, 4th and 3rd in their respective heats then 7th and 8th in the main. Desprey and Aranda were a cut above the rest.

Beagle, are these Vargs uncorked, pushing 80hp?

No, like most MX, SX, AX in which they participate, they lock power at 48 hp for MX2/SX2 and 60 hp for MX1/SX1. 

For some reason WSX is an exception, power limits are higher (59 hp in SX2 and 72 hp in SX1), not sure why, maybe to account for extra heft?

Hicks is usually the fastest Stark rider in SX tour and WSX although he's racing SX2, I don't think the extra power in SX1 makes much of a difference but Hicks is also super competitive in SX2 even though the extra weight compared to ICE is more significant than in SX1 (min weight 117 kg for electrics vs 95 kg in SX2 and 99 kg in SX1 for gas bikes).

In various enduro championships they can be allowed to compete at full power (since it's unlikely to make much difference on gnarly terrain) and sometimes even without minimum weight, regulations are similar to ICE, run what you brung.
