Do you put any thought into tear offs? Do you wish there were other options other than what the big dog goggle companies sell (that are typically all made by the same tear off supplier).

Well, I found a solid company. By happenstance I met this company by needing tear offs for my armatics at a qualifier. I liteally have no affilation other than BS'n at the track. I ended up talking with the owner for quite some time. There is so much more to tear offs than meets the eye. The el cheapos moose or whoever sells aftermarket has been about a joke for me. Crinkled in package or already scratched, which, alot seem to scratch if you even breathe on them.

This company is called Vampire tear offs. I believe ive seen the logo here before but didn't think much of it, so I'm glad I met the dude in person. His tear offs are a little unique. They have a scratch resistant coating on them. Im super picky about my vision, so ill constantly try to swipe a spec away instead of wasting a tear off. Typically this just leads to a scratched tear off and I pull it quickly anyway. His coating I believe is part of the adhesive that holds the laminates together. He developed this idea for lots of other uses, like inside media blasting cabinets, but has now applied it to our world. Not only is it scratch resistant, he has the "pressures" figured out. Alot of times Ive accidentally pulled my whole stack because they were so stuck together. The possibility of sometimes pulling a tear off with hulk hogan arm pump and accidentally grabbing too much is always there. However, I have had it happen on a "good" pull with no arm pump, likely due to the adhesive. Vampires tear offs pull with very little effort from one layer to the next.

He can also MAKE you tear offs for ANY goggle if you send them to him. Hes got the system down. I actually had my 6d goggles at the race but couldn't wear them because I didn't have tear offs. Well, now I do and he has a solid template for 6d tear offs. Which by the way, im really starting to like the 6d goggle. Odd feeling at first with nothing touching above my eyebrows like ive felt the last 30 years, but no issues so far with sweat or dirt. Visibility is obviously awesome in them.

I am a fan of cool shit, and mom n pop small business. This outfit is both. Middle of Ohio good ol boy with extensive knowledge in his choice of business. Hes priced extremely well too, so thats a bonus because dang these things got expensive! Lol

Here are a couple pics of the 6d set up.

Do you happen to know if the single layer tear offs have that same coating?

Off-road racing unless its muddy I never need more than 2-3 tear offs but they end up getting scratched by vines and twigs so much I have to pull them anyways.

I do not believe the singles have it at this point. However, he can custom make smaller tear off stacks which from what I understand may in the works too. I have the same issue even in moto. Typical 4-5 lap moto I MIGHT pull 2 or 3 and if its a 7 stack the rest go to waste. He may offer 3-4 stack versions in the future.

JBlain, his name is Tom Faris.

Search for Armor Vision. Best investment there is for googles, and cheap.

Mount it on all my googles, so even if I use last tear-off I can wipe with fingers without destroying the glass.

Needs to be new glas you mount it on, difficult to get it perfect without bubbles otherwise.

Ive seen those and have been tempted, but now if I can do the same with tear offs i just wont pull my last one till there no point of return.

Read down a couple paragraph in my original post. These have the fix for that due to minimal effort to get them to separate.

Johnny oz, he does make them for dirt car helmets, i do know that.

Thanks for this. Just ordered some packs of singles and laminates to try out. Our big name goggle company is constantly out of stock with tear offs. Sponsorships don’t do you much good when there is no product to buy!

Put some motos in last night in my 6d's and ran tear offs. I still stand by what ive written think theyre great. Few times I got specs of dirt, but not enough to warrant a full pull. Was able to wipe it clear with no scratches appearing. When i did finally pull, i was wondering how it'd be with such a huge surface area. No issues and minimal pull effort. Still a win in my book.
