John Dowd is a dirt-scooting legend! Last night at the Kicker Arenacross, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, John Dowd showed up on a bone stock KXF250 and 450, according to his mechanic. If memory serves me correct, the pro practice was the first time he had been on the bikes.

Dowd didn't come away with the win, but he did perform some brilliant passes in the pro classes that only come from decades of racing experience. To see a guy that old (or young, depending on perspective), still ripping, and racing with guys half his age, is truly inspiring to anybody who rides a motorcycle.

I wish I had a picture to post, but I don't...

You could put Dowdy on a Lark Scooter and he would still find a way to run it in on someone and make a pass.

Guy is a living legend.

I love how none of you give Dowd crap for being how old and being in the 125 class, but you bag on Hansen.

its not really the age factor, i personally dont care that Hansen races lites class still. I think people dont like it because he has been racing the lites for so long, and i dont believe Dowd raced lites class for like 6 years.

I can say that I've had the pleasure of being roosted by Dowd during a race. I can still taste the Southwick sand and it was delicious....The guy is a legend along with Doug Henry......
