Husqvarna Mobility’s professional motocross and supercross racing program in the United States will enter a new phase at the conclusion of the 2026 SMX World Championship season. From 2027 onward, the brand will transition away from operating an in-house factory racing team and instead, support independent teams and riders with factory level materials and technical expertise for the SMX series. This evolution ensures the brand’s presence in racing at the highest level, while repositioning its focus on the brand’s heritage and wider riding community.

Ok so no more factory husky team, but they will lease factory engines and parts to teams. So likely we’ll see a satellite team (someone at the level of club or quad lock) move to husky?

Sounds like they're going back to their previous model before Bobby Hewitt's team was bought out and brought in-house. Consistent with the GP effort.
Here's what I know.
1. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna will cease to exist in 2027.
2. The majority of staff and technical effort will become KTM’s 250 program.
3. Ryder DiFrancesco and Daxton Bennick will move to this new KTM effort for 2027.
4. RJ Hampshire, and Casey Cochran are free agents and looking for rides.
5. Teams like AEO, Tedder, and maybe more could have access more factory level materials via Husqvarna
6. Malcolm Stewart I’m a bit lost on.
KTM is going to have a HUGE team in 2027, especially if the Coenens are coming.

This also explains the situation with RJ. Husky asked him to come back and race Supercross, he said, “give me a contract and I’ll do it” obviously they said no.
Especially weird since 16 hours ago ml512 responded to someone else’s thread saying there were no rumors floating around to confirm this.
They wait for official announcements to not only be more professional but also to maintain relationships with riders, teams and sanctioning bodies but Im sure some others were tipped off to this as well.
The difference being Cooksey will continue to be some dude talking to a camera stuck in his garage “leaking” information (some true, some not) while actual media outlets will interview riders, create articles on their websites and be able to report on the racing events that they obtain media passes for and get to attend.
If this ends up pushing good equipment and creating some stronger private teams, such as Tedder growing into HEP type org, that's great for the sport. If this cuts jobs that can't be replaced, then it's bad.
At the end of the day, all the Austrian teams were technically one team with one point of failure and we're seeing the impact of that in real time.
Was just about to say the same thing. I'm sure many people knew about this weeks before today, but there's a certain decorum and respect to be followed by those people in the know whilst getting everything finalized for the announcement. This affects people's and business's livelihoods and there's a time and place for the right announcement.
This doesn't affect the POS Cooksey at all so he thinks he's breaking news by leaking it before the agreed time. He's just a scumbag with zero integrity and it's a shame that anyone with a bit of inside knowledge would give him any info. Shit, this is the same guy that kept insisting that Jett and his girlfriend we're expecting a baby. The guy is trash
