Kenny has the points lead and momentum. Hard to bet against him now. Hunter needs to basically win both remaining races to beat him.
Kenny can easily finish second if he doesn’t win. He will hold the red plate in the final round for sure.

I don’t think that the universe owes Roczen anything. If he wins this thing (and I really hope he does!) he’ll have earned it through sheer will and determination, not a make up gift from ‘the universe’!!!!!
But Kenny can't take second if Hunter wins both races. The gap is 4 points and its a 3 point difference between 1st and 2nd right?
He meant Kenny could take second this weekend and still have a 1-point lead going into the final round.
If I were Roczen, I'd keep pushing right now and try to pad my lead for the final.

Yeah James talked about it on his podcast and was saying this weekend is the championship. Not literally, obviously. But Kenny wins on Saturday and he has what, a 6 point lead? Or 7? But either way, it gives him such a buffer for the finale. What an amazing story this championship has been! I'm usually checked out on sx by now.
^ If it's Roczen 1, Lawrence 2, Kenny will lead by 7. If it's Lawrence 1, Roczen 2, Hunter will be 1 point behind.
I think Hunter is riding conservative for the championship as a strategy, which usually works. But right now Kenny is going for it and he keeps coming out on top. I think Hunter needs to change his mentality right now and go out there to dominate.
As for who I am cheering for, I gotta go with Ken. This makes his career story sooooo much better. Either way I don't think I will celebrate who won as much as I will feel gutted for the guy that lost. It's a weird ending in that regard for me.
That is what makes this so rad. He has been given some lemons in his career, and he is out there making a big ass jug of lemonade right now.
