I put my helmet camera on a rider a few months ago. Alot of people commented that it was a good 250F vs 250 2 stroke comparison. So i re-uploaded it at 1080. Check it out.

731 - Steve Roman - 4 Stroke

647 - Ty Newcome - 2 Stroke

558 - Dylan Slusser

Did you guess where he was going to make the pass?

Thanks for sharing, that is a cool vid!

I knew he would make the pass there. I think the rider on the 250f is definitely a little bit better but nonetheless its a great video.

So such different means of making the power. I don't see much superiority with either machine. Kindov surprised the 250F did as good as it did!

Every experienced rider can watch that race play out and remember every nuance of a great day at the track. A clean first turn...knowing you're up front with a good shot...seeing that the guy you're gonna dice with isn't a fool...finding good lines and sticking them...coming in so hot you get a rush and let out a hoot...roost that helps you focus instead of follow...making the pass and then defending. Once a rider figures out that the dream he had at the beginning...that one of being AMA and FIM world champ just ain't gonna happen...and it really doesn't matter...then all these things are the reason we love the sport (and post ignorant stuff on message boards). Great video man...maybe a little cruel in the middle of a frozen Kansas winter. Thanks.

Wow, thanks for posting that. Got my HR up just watching it. That jump on the inside of the right hand turn that the 250F was doing was .... wow. Let's just say I wouldn't jump right next to a guy like that, but that's probably why I'm in Vet B. The 250F rider must have really trusted the 250 rider for how often he jumped in right behind him.

LOL at 7:47 - someone (a different 2 stroke?) shows you a fender, you go off the track trying to squeeze him off!

That was an awesome ride for both of them, But that rider on the two stroke held him off for a good bit he must have had Traction control.

The rider on the 2 stroke is Ty Newcome. Steve Roman on the helmet cam. Dylan slusser (honda 250f) was right on steves fender the whole time. You can see that it was a drag race over the checker and he looks back at him.

That was probably the best racing go pro vid I've seen. Definately made me want to ride.

You got the Barcia throttle hand!

Too bad Slusser didn't have a helmet cam, he must have had a great view of the battle.

I'm gettin more cams for next year. Just picked up a Canon 7D DSLR to start doing video. My goal is to have about 4 riders with helmet cams, and me with the 7D. I got some new stuff in mind for making some movies... but this snow needs to melt soon here in PA! Stay tuned. http://www.pbase.com/zlowery

You can really see the differences in power delivery between the bikes. When they were hooked up the YZ was gone, but he really struggled to get out of the turns very well.

I only ride prepped MX tracks which is probably why I see no problem w/ my 2 strokes powerband.

Awesome video!!

the slicker it gets, the more advantage the 4s has. the loamier, deeper it is, it swings to the 2s. that track was semi hardpack... notice the 250s would just pull away from the 250f? thats the problem. there is no easy, just make it happen cure.

what I find disturbing though... you have a kid on an 80 (mine is headed to 80ville now), he gets too big for it, now hes gotta get on a 250f? look.... you have all seen me slam the 2stroke belligerent nut jobs in here, not because they love the 2s, but because of their head up ass rhetoric, you want to argue, use common, valid, sense, not.... anyhow... but I am whole heartedly in favor, and think it should be saved, of the 125 2 stroke. There has to be a tansition bike from the 80. And I honestly think, and hope, we will see a resurgence of the 125 by the manufacturers.

by the way, TY for the vid!!! its a dreary day here in okla, 2 kids with the flu, made my day! have watched it 4 times now! (and Ill admit the 2nd and 3rd time was to hear the 250s on the pipe!)

Great video. That YZ250 sounded crisp.

I would love to ride that track. A CR500, preferably by Service Honda, would chew that place up.

You sure that wasn't Josh Grant on the Honda? Cause it sure looked like you Jeff Alessi'd him! Just kidding, great video and just goes to prove that heads up cc/cc is pretty accurate. You could see the advantage swing back and forth ultimately ending with some excellent racing. And that is a good thing.

cool video.

as much time as the F was on the rev limiter, it's no wonder why they wear out so fast.
