Some one finds out you did something shitty? The media doesn't address what you did, the headline is "republicans pounce" and try to make it like Republicans are just over reacting. Then if and when you do upset the apple cart, all hell breaks loose and they throw you under the bus so fast with all they have. This of course is to not only get rid of you but to make an example out of you for everyone else that's thinking of stepping out of line. Everyone knew Swalls did shitty stuff and they kept it quiet for years. Why? Because he was a useful idiot, did exactly what he was told and kept getting rewarded for it. But now, he's splitting the dem vote in what would have amounted to 2 republicans going to the governor run off election. So under the bus he goes. Did reporters ever report on it? No because they didn't want to lose their good graces with the dem leak machine. Did other members of congress ever do anything? No, because the elites can hold it over his head to make him do the dirty stuff. Go out and trash Trump and all republican universe. And this is how the elite dems keep control of all the dem minions that never break ranks on voting.

Fox and Newsmax cover for Trump and Republicans . Bari Weiss killed a 60 minutes story for Trump and is reshaping CBS news as more right leaning. And just about all the big news channels and main networks are all being bought by people who lean very hard to the right. So either things will change and have a heavy right leaning style. Or more likely they will stay similar and keep playing us all against each other by getting us worked up about the other side.
There are also 100's of local stations that Sinclair has bought up. They were one of the groups of local affiliates that refused to run Jimmy Kimmel for that very short amount of time until they saw the money they were missing out on.
Every news outlet does get the same news feed from the AP. It puts out bigger national news and then all the stations report it and it sounds similar. ALL of them use info from the AP feed. But then will rework it and have their own stories that they work on. Local News that reports on national stuff use the AP feed much more sometimes even matching reporting word for word across multiple local news channels. Some of the late-night shows have put clips together showing it in the past.

However, media people come from academia which is by far and away left. They groom their students to be leftist. So when they get into the work force their bias is in constant view. And in order to succeed they have to present left leaning content. To get left leaning content they need to be in bed with the dems. Also, which major news outlet had not a single republican editor? Was it the NYT? And when the news papers are going to be sold to a conservative owner the entire staff threatens to quit? These are not made up stories.

I personally think opinion should be left out of anything labeled as News. I hate how news has shifted to not just reporting whats happening, but then saying how the news caster feels about it. The problem is that most people do not like to see and hear what they don't want to. Ratings are higher when You make news easier to digest by the target audience.
Disney and Comcast are right leaning? It doesn't really matter anyway, they are in business to make money. They play to their audience like chimp said. Most big media are in the big cities and 2/3 of the big cities are left leaning.
Ellison has been a democrat donor for a long time. It was only recently that he started sucking up to Trump to get his media deal through. He has promised to minimize CBS's political bias. Which is killing his ratings btw.

They are being bought by paramount/ skydance , my mother has a small amount of Disney warner bros stocks , I don't remember the exact wording but she got some mail about the potential sale and a vote she was supposed to be a part of but with everything going on I haven't followed what happened since then . Last I knew it was needing government approval.
My point was that no mater who's owning them, like You said they will still split the audience and go for the ratings . People do not like to watch news they disagree with. But I guess I didn't really say it that well in the second part of that post You quoted. So I think Your making the same point I was.
In my first post in here I also said how that I doubted any programing would change if they were all owned by right leaning owners. That both sides are working to divide us. It wouldn't make sense to try and get everybody on the same side and united . If the current owners are super left leaning and influencing the programing to that degree, why would they risk the loss of that impact by selling to more right leaning people? They that power is to worth more than the money from a quick sale . And like You said there is a large amount of people who want that content. Barry Weis has not impacted CBS news as much as many were worried about. Well other than pretty much killing 60 minutes. But CBS hasn't turned into another Fox/Newsmax like some were worried would happen.

I just needed to rant. It's like when they tell you something, you always have to ask yourself. Why are they telling me this? What's the real reason? And why now? And the Swalwell stuff just got me pissed today, they knew this stuff months and years ago. So you have to ask, did they really want to expose him? I think not, I think they just didn't want 2 Rs running against each other in Nov. We always talk about how corrupt the politicians are but the media is as bad or worse. Had he not run for governor, this would have never made it to the news cycle.

You have to get informed somehow.
It's kind of silly people say why watch the news. It's a good launch pad. You decide what topics you're interested in and go find more information. If you only rely on the news, that's another issue. But there are topics that come up that you'd otherwise never know about. So why not?
