I don't know if Andy was the first, but I do know that he's a bad dude on a bike, and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

David McClain was also another racer from Texas(?) that was a bad mo'fo and think a National number Pro.
Jefferson riding that tough SoCal/National circuits and the white Huskys....good memories.
Wasn't Mitch helpin' him out since he had a Husky gig back then?

Some info from Wikepedia as to the definition of race, a Model/theory of human evoloution and also some RSA facts. History clearly shows that RSA has been divided white vs black, 2 different races occupying the same area, and the struggle in that area. Being born in or coming from a certain country does not change your race.

People that are labeled Mexican American, African American, Asian American and so on typically refer to people of a certain race born in America. Despite being born in RSA, Albee and GL are caucasian based on their race. South Africa happened to be where more of the Europeans(caucasian) occupied, Central and Northern Africa where more of the African(Black) people occupied. The integration of these people into other areas did not change their race.

The term race refers to the concept of dividing people into populations or groups on the basis of various sets of characteristics.[1] The most widely used human racial categories are based on visible traits (especially skin color, cranial or facial features and hair texture), and self-identification.[1][2]

[edit] Out of Africa model
See also: Recent single origin hypothesis
According to the Out of Africa Model, developed by Christopher Stringer and Peter Andrews, modern Homo sapiens evolved in Africa 200,000 years ago. H. sapiens began migrating from Africa around 50,000 years ago and eventually replaced existing hominid species in Europe and Asia.[19][20] This model has gained support by recent research using mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA). After analysing genealogy trees constructed using 133 types of mtDNA, they concluded that all were descended from a woman from Africa, dubbed Mitochondrial Eve.[21]

South Africa is ethnically diverse, with the largest Caucasian, Indian, and racially mixed communities in Africa. Black South Africans, who speak nine officially recognised languages, and many more dialects, account for nearly 80% of the population.

Racial strife between the white minority and the black majority has played a large part in South Africa's history and politics, culminating in apartheid, which was instituted in 1948 by the National Party (although segregation existed before that time). The laws that defined apartheid began to be repealed or abolished by the National Party in 1990, after a long and sometimes violent struggle, including economic sanctions from the international community.

If we're talking AMA nationals or SX....James "Bubba" Stewart is the first & only one. Andy Jefferson & David McClain competed in quite a few AMA races back in the 80's, but Other than possibly a qualifier, neither of them won a "AMA" national or SX race. Jefferson races in the WORCS series & I believe has 2 or 3 championships in his age group. And yes, Andy used to ride for Pro Circuit racing back when Mitch was a Husky dealer.

No white person calls a black man an African American. "They" must be black and are ratting out another black person to the PO-lice. Langston would not be the first choice for the PO-lice to grab because there is no whoop section on 125th street.

There is on Lenny's street. He said it's not only ok, but cool to ride around the streets, vacant construction sites, and to run from the police...

Why would anyone consider Langston an African American? He's not American. Didn't he race for South Africa at the MXoN?

James raced for US...so does that mean that he can't be African American either?

Why is African American such a big deal? If that's what they want...let them have it!
Shit, I sure has hell wouldn't want to be labeled "African" anything. That country is 150 years behind every other nation in the world. But, if a group wants to have the label of a country that SOLD them into slavery...let them have it!!!!

James is an American with African heritage so he is an African American. Langston is an African with European heritage. If he has become an US citizen, then he could be considered an African American but if thats the case, why would he not race for the US at the MXoN? My point was that just because he races in the US does not make him an American.

Maybe if you'd taken time to read the article PDub wrote in RacerX this wouldn't even be a topic....

odds are in the white favor that they would be driving the slave ship so that is an invalid arguement.
