People that are labeled Mexican American, African American, Asian American and so on typically refer to people of a certain race born in America. Despite being born in RSA, Albee and GL are caucasian based on their race. South Africa happened to be where more of the Europeans(caucasian) occupied, Central and Northern Africa where more of the African(Black) people occupied. The integration of these people into other areas did not change their race.
The term race refers to the concept of dividing people into populations or groups on the basis of various sets of characteristics.[1] The most widely used human racial categories are based on visible traits (especially skin color, cranial or facial features and hair texture), and self-identification.[1][2]

According to the Out of Africa Model, developed by Christopher Stringer and Peter Andrews, modern Homo sapiens evolved in Africa 200,000 years ago. H. sapiens began migrating from Africa around 50,000 years ago and eventually replaced existing hominid species in Europe and Asia.[19][20] This model has gained support by recent research using mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA). After analysing genealogy trees constructed using 133 types of mtDNA, they concluded that all were descended from a woman from Africa, dubbed Mitochondrial Eve.[21]

Shit, I sure has hell wouldn't want to be labeled "African" anything. That country is 150 years behind every other nation in the world. But, if a group wants to have the label of a country that SOLD them into slavery...let them have it!!!!
