The whole thing is stupid. If they were using traction control, they wouldn't have a sensor out in plain sight, they'd put it inside the engine and sense the acceleration of the countershaft. Acceleration of the countershaft and acceleration of the rear wheel are proportional.

it would not make sense for some one like him to use traction control. He is a top guy in contention for the championship why would he through it away like that on something illegal? there is no way that is what it is anyway, you know everyone would notice and there would be no way of getting away with it.

There is always a way to getaway with it. Don't think without using your brain. You would be surprised if you knew who And how they cheat in all forms of racing.

Yamaha has been using traction control devices since 1997...It's called "4-Stroke"

While we are talking about "cheating". has anyone here ever thought about the fact that Pro Circuit builds the engines for numerous riders aside from the ones on the payroll? Do we truly believe that Mitch Payton is going to let a non-PC engine make the same performance as his golden boys engines? It just doesn't make sense that he can take mediocre riders (no offense to any one in particular) and make them all top 5 or top 3 riders. Not saying by any means that they are all mediocre but they aren't all Pourcell or Villopoto either...Just Sayin!

Guys, I am not as much of a JS7 fan than an RV2 fan, but come on, James doesn't need to cheat.

The Speed TV crew watching too much Jersey Shore? The one thing for sure, the more they ask these kind of controversy-building questions, the more guys like JS, Dungey and else will go all Matthes on them.

Yeah. There's a whole section of the NASCAR museum that's devoted to how the rules are enforced, and examples of cheating.

Does traction control work on a track with no traction at all? I think the only traction control that might work at Phoenix would be a clutch on the verge of being fried. What makes that track so treacherous? It's been that way from day 1.

Apparently there's a healthy does of drama in the dirt, and it shows up every year. Wink

I believe that most people do not think that Stewart's bike has TC. However, is telemetry legal?

The AMA knows that once you allow all of the data sensors on the bike to be used for telemetry, then it is almost impossible to even tell if a bike is running traction control.

I just don't think that the AMA wants to "open that can of worms".

Traction control is next to impossible to prove. Reason that Formula 1, Moto GP, and AMA Superbike made it legal. Suzuk,i figured out how to do it without a front wheel speed sensor in road racing. (which was illegal )
