Maybe if Trump wears a tan suit they will finally revolt.

Then there’s all the pearl clutching and claims of what is or isn’t legal…while they seem to have no recollection of the targeting package that opened Desert Storm. Our 1st target that night was the telephone system/main network building; hence, “infrastructure”…in downtown Baghdad.

No worries.

They’re all ABCCBSNBCCNNMSNBC information warriors that get their “news” from the ladies of The View.

But, I digress.

There was no Vital and no internet in what...1991? Not sure how we could verify if there was hypocrisy across that 35 year span, but you don't have to look that far back to find hypocrisy in how Trump felt about both Bush's lying and how much Americans claimed to not want another endless war and to stop meddling in the middle reast, yet here they are flip flopping like a fish on a frying pan.

Also, taking out phone lines isn't quite comparable to suggesting that a whole civilization is going to die. I wonder what kind of other people from the past talked about wiping out civilizations....

Coming form the likes of you, that’s a compliment. So, thanks!

And for other folks and thier commentary/comparos: we had ARPANET before y’all were invited along for the ride that we now call the internet. Personally, been using some form of a “web” since ‘84 for comm’s, data & hardware tracking (DoD).

As to “no comparison”? We’ll see. It seems that some of us think Iran pursuing nukes is…was…a problem and others don’t. That’s all good. But, we’ve come a long way since the night the Nighthawks made thier runs on Baghdad; yet, the familiar threat remains. Same region, same type of kooks. So, again, we’ll see.

As to any state threatening International Shipping lanes? Well, you all go ahead and sit on that. Me? I think dealing with the terrorist state of these Islamic Revolutionary kooks is what’s actually going down and I’m gonna see how it all plays out…without joining in with the negative Nancy crowd…if that’s ok with y’all.

Anyhooo…Can they get rid of the actual IRGC as we know it? We’ll see. Have they dealt them a significant blow? Seems to me that’s exactly what our folks have done.

The days of hundreds come thousands of missiles and drones being launched by these Kokks is over. Seems to me their leadership, that is…the latest version there-of, is in hiding and isn’t accomplishing much of their usual madness. Nice.

Then there’s the way these kooks have lashed out at their regional neighbors…y’all seem to have a strange way of looking at that. Some of you seem to have lost count of all the other nations they’ve attacked in recent weeks and what that makes all too obvious about Iran’s political leadership: they’re out of their fucking minds.

Yup, you all don’t seem to care about the obvious: Iran is out of fucking control and all y’all can do is sit around and bitch about someone finally dealing with it.

That’s ok. Call me a Fucking Idiot, make the foolish assumption that history doesn’t matter, assume that what you think you know for the TV News is the actual reality on the ground. It’s all good.

My favorite? Is any one of you telling ANYONE that they’re “A Fucking Idiot”. That’s priceless. 🤣

Some of you are in good company 😉

Well, anyways, me and Milo have to go see a man about a track car…as in pavement…road course…it’s time and the car is at is available.

You all have a great day.

GUYS im sO KeWL I’ve been using the intraweb since 84!

Cool man. No one cares about you arrogant narrative peddlin. Your for military action when a Republican does it and against when a dem does it.  I actually thought you were a bit quiet on here recently and maybe had some sense that this conflict is misguided but you don’t wanna bite the hand that feeds.

The only reason Iran could pursue a nuke so quickly is because Trump ripped up the nuke deal. And maybe they were working on one in secret, but that will always be the case. Before Trump ripped it up we at least had some oversight. Then we bombed there nuke facilities and were sold a lie (obviously by the actions we are now taking) that they were set back years in there nuclear capability.

This whole thing is a colossal fuck up.  Plenty of our adversaries have nukes. Are they using them? no one will use one because all of our economies are too tied together.  We are probably the only country dumb enough to use one currently(and historically)

Meanwhile Pete dickbreath thinks our soldiers are Christian crusaders on a mission from god.

FUCK THAT.

Trump created this mess entirely on his own with Bibi’s encouragement and approval (and blackmail).

Perhaps a twinge of irony, Shelly?  No sense rehashing our respective histories;  your work speaks for itself.

If we met in a bar Im sure we would find common…-ah, who am I kidding. I still wouldn’t like a man with such low self esteem. Apologies in advance.

On the contrary, I would enjoy a Blantons and gladly buy you your usual sloe gin fizz or fuzzy navel.

If we had dinner, I’d make sure the waiter brought you enough ketchup for your well-done steak.

How about we get a bit more recent so the kids might remember. NATO bombed the power plants in Yugoslavia under the pretense the power from the power plants helped the military. But the kids here probably still didn't give a shit about that either.

Or that every president in recent history, dating back to WW2 and beyond, has gone after powerplants, and manufacturing facilities manned by civilians.

Lucky for us we bombed the Ducati electronics factory in WW2. From that came the birth of Ducati motorcycle.😁

Context..

We used bombs primarily made from carbon fibre/graphite to take out transformers and lines used by the Yugoslavian military for radar and communications systems. Causing temporary blackouts, but leaving the structures intact because they detonate above the plant and shower everything with powder or carbon fibre strings that shorts things out.

At the time, the civilian population of a neighbouring country was being targeted with acts of genocide being committed in Kosovo. ‘Ethnic cleansing’ as the Serbs called it.

Nevertheless, as there was no UN resolution to support it (Russia and China blocked it) you can still argue that it was against international law, even if the grounds for doing so were purely humanitarian.

Not exactly a ‘like for like’ to current, but you can definitely make the case for precedent.

So just because nearly all previous administrations did horrible shit that means this one gets a pass too? Maybe it has something to do with more information immediately available to people and they’re paying closer attention to things? I’m glad we keep the bar super low. Don might trip.

So what you're saying is, we used the best technology we had to get done what we wanted, still using the same reasoning.

In a sense, but I’m just wanting to qualify the statement “NATO bombed the power plants in Yugoslavia” a bit.  We used technology that minimised impact to civilians by making any outages temporary, not removing the power plants entirely. That’s a pretty big separator to what was being discussed in the context of Iran over the last few days.

How is there so much focus on the infrastructure talk, and so little on the talk of "ending a civilization forever" which I take to mean killing everybody in Iran, civilians ,everybody.

Is that also common for past US presidents to say? Who else in history tried to something similar? I do hope its an empty threat , like some of the other times hes given and extended deadlines. I wonder if Trump was never read the story of the boy that cried wolf as a child? Seems like it could have helped him out.

I keep seeing the defense being that these other guys we disliked did similar things, so its OK for our guy to do them. I thought Trump was supposed to be different? Defending his actions by saying he's the same confuses me.

Interesting to see everybody in the Trump admin has said they were against going into Iran , but they backed Trumps decision . It was reported that Trump trusted his gut and Israel convincing him. I was half asleep when I heard the reporting so I'm not sure who it came from. One of the bigger news papers.  Vance, Rubio and others are said to have all been against it. Trump himself has said that he was afraid of them using the 25th amendment if he said what he really was planning on doing. ( not in this latest article, he said it in one of the many press conferences he's had) .I wonder how close they have gotten to something like that happening and if it influenced this ceasefire?

Hopefully the ceasefire is the start of the end. And we don't end up making some giant historical disaster.
