That's a great start. I'm sure it will add a different atmosphere to those events they choose.

I like the idea but don't see how it's going to pull a full gate. It sounds like most of you guys are expecting the entire schoolboy class from Lorettas to show up on the line. The reality is those kids have commitments and budgets they work inside like everyone else. Especially kids who run outside the top 10. They go to LL's to run 2 classes and 6 motos over a week. You can't expect them to drive all the way out to Hangtown to run 2 short motos to be a filler program. If I was a betting man I'd say the gate will only be half full, and most of the kids won't be much past novice.

I wondered how long till the first 4t 'er who bought into the over-priced, heavy, loud 4t pos is the best thing to hit mx since Jeff Smith and BSA would chime in with "smokers are dead get over it"

I think this may be a step towards a three class schedule again.

Something I think is a GREAT idea. 125/250/open. It would be the perfect solution for Sunday guys like us, privateers, and the pro's/factories/satellites.

I think you would pull a full gate easy depending on the track. Red Bud's Friday amateur Schoolboy 1 had around 23 entries or so. if you were to up the age to 19 it's going to pull in quite a few more and if everyone know's you will be racing along with the big show, I think it would be a big hit. should be based off Schoolboy 1 rules (except the age they decide on) IMO and would be great way to showcase some local tallent that doesn't have the funds to run all over the country.

I've been know to be some what of a 2 stroke nazi, but I think this class could be good for the Pro side of the sport. I see it as more of a regional thing. Not something that all the up and coming kids have to drive all over the country for.

One arguement with pro racing right now is that it is too expensive for any kids without rich parents. They can't afford to build and maintain a 46 hp 250F. With a 125 class it would give kids who have the talent or work ethic a chance to be noticed by the big teams.

Maybe find a way to make this class provide points toward a pro license as an incentive. One thing that would be cool is if it was only age based. (16-19) This would open it up to B riders who don't want to lose their B status if they want to race LL's. ....but that is a slippery slope.......

Make it kind of like the Red Bull rookies thing in road racing. It could be the " Red Bull or Monster 125 Futures. "

Maybe KTM would send a couple of their UEM 125 class riders over to the US to give it a bit more flavour.

That class has definitely been successful at the GP's. A great strategy to give young riders exposure in front of MX industry and public.

Apparently at the first round of the UEM 125 class at Mantova, Italy they got 72 entries! Filling a gate should not be a problem,

Stepping past all the back and forth, I dont think ANYONE can argue that bringing back a 125 class is nuttin but a good thing. We strangely went from 125(stepping stone) and big bike to big bike and open.

It is criminal to put a kid on a 250F for many reasons, safety, exclusion and finances start the list.

Who doesnt like the sound of a 125 pinned and railing the corners then WFO off the jumps. If you have any doubt, watch this video again. ...
