For this build you need to use a 2000 air boot if you’re using a Kehin carb.
I took the 02 off cleaned the airbox, subframe and installed a 00 boot while resealing the boot to box.

Seat covers suck! I placed it on top of the fireplace mantle for a bit while I had a fire going to get it all warm and toasty for easy install.  Came out pretty nice.

How is the seat cover is it tacky rubber & real grippy ?  I want to order a all yellow with TUF. In orange letters from TJ.  I ordered a 87 cr blue but it’s like orange peal & not very grippy .  Contact UFO the owner ran TUF. Racing & try to get a bonus program & plastic of course. Yellow seat cover , yellow backgrounds with all red plastic I think it would look tits

Hey pro!

I would say it’s old school grippy.  It’s not as grippy as the motoseat or guts covers are these days before they are broken in.
Still guaranteed monkey butt though!

SST!  These pipes work great with this engine.

The FMF SST pipes came with a chrome plating instead of a nickel plating like on their other pipes but that just won’t work for this build.  I took it down to the metal strippers and they removed the chrome but said it also had a layer of copper and nickel. I wasn’t about to spend 600 bucks to have them take it down to bare metal so I sanded it and applied some PJ1 high temp satin to get me by until I pick up a works pipe of some sort.

That looks interesting how you polished the forward part of the spar, but kept the rest of the frame with a finish closer to original. I usually dont like polished frames, but that looks kind of cool.

Thank you.!
It’s a fine line staying between a clean factory look and the early 2000s FMX chromed out Metal Mulisha frames.

Hey Buddy curious on the frame polished look. I have a 2000 cr250, I covered that up when I bought her new with a decal works clear sheet to protect it. How did you get that shine?? If you don't want to say it's cool, but really nice build and some Cool tricks you did.

Yo MXGP,

The way I polish, I start with sanding inline with the frame spar starting with 1000 grit and going to 1500 or 2000. Focus on the imperfections. Then I use green scotch bright the same way I did the sand paper.   Go inline of the spar and don’t apply too much pressure.  This will even everything out looks wise.

Then with small amount mothers polish a microfiber towel and a dab of WD40, spend about an hour working inline with the spar paying special attention to the nooks and crannies.  It will come out REEL nice and you will have less grease in your elbow when your done.

Thanks so much for this info. Enjoy your first ride on that steed.

This steed is finally out of storage!  What an adventure it’s been.  It’s been all work and no play for a while.  I need to update the brakes and make a few more adjustments before I go ride it.  Maybe some wheels?

Anybody have some motostuff rotors laying around?

Looks like MotoStuff still has some 260mm front kits in stock (depending on fork year); Are you looking for 260, 270, or 280mm?

Thanks for the heads up.
I’m not looking for any particular size.  I just think the motostuff products are super nice.

I’ll wait a couple weeks and look for a nice used set.  If nobody has anything they want to get rid of I’ll scoop up a new one.

Knowing what size you want it important for 2 reasons, you need a bracket to match your fork lug to the size. The faster rider you are the more size you want unless you ride in rocky stuff that will bend a 280mm rotor. I run both 270 and 280 and keep spares on hand in case I kiss something hard.

I won’t be riding this bike in the rocks as of now.
Hopefully I can find a nice used set that has the bracket included.
I’m a front brake abuser so the bigger the better but I’m mainly looking for the cool factor.

I hv a Motostuff rotar on my cr125, Huge improvement in braking power. What is the yr 07 crF master cylinder is supposed to be a big improvement also.  I run a 2014 crf rear rotar .  I think later yrs might work too. Not sure of the cut off yr.
